Well. I grew bored and decided to try my luck at my favorite Warcraft character, this was inspired by Celestine's fic involving Prince Kael'thas, but unlike Kael, Sylvanus has more reasons to be hateful of what she is, and is stuck in a raging mental battle, for what she should be.

I'd like to also thank Kellen for locating the few pics I have included, and in effect, being the second person who inspired me to make a fourth entry in this challenge, this time on a different game series.

PG-13, not sure how else to rate most of my material, I tries my to keep within limits, and still deliver to you guys. Enjoy.

Challenge# 4: The Dark Lady
Chapter 1: The Dark Lady Sylvanus

Sylvanus1_200x300.jpg

Mere months have passed since my death.
And still this curse remains bound to me.
And vengeance unfulfilled.

"Lady Sylvanus, Varimathras reports that the Scourge forces are again <chitter> attacking our outpost off <chitter> the old elven border. He says that our warriors have retreated to the caverns, and are currently <chitter> hampering the Lich King's minions from situating a base of operations in the region."

"That outpost is our only eye in the east as of this moment, where are the ships I commisioned?"

"The Goblin manfactuers claim they are having techincal problems <chitter> with the new airships you ordered, they insist they're company will have the warships ready to fly shortly however."

"These goblins are becoming a liabilty."

"What is your command, mistress?"

"Our forces will never reach the outpost in time. I want you to give those goblins some extra encouragement to speed these airships along. And send word to the three battalions on our interior eastern front, tell them they are to assist our brethern to the east."

"It will take time mistress. <chitter> What form of encouragement shall I give the goblins however? <hissing noise>"

"The same way as ever ghoul, show them your talents at persuasion."

"Hiss! It shall be done!"

"<Sigh> When will this end?"
*************************

First Aleria, now all that I have ever known or cared for. Gone.

All because others wanted power.
TheArmyOfEternity_250x200.jpg
None understand my pain. And they are right to distrust me, the fools.

Even my own kin who now label themselves as Blood Elves cannot trust the abomination I have become.

Why should they?

Even I hate what I have become.

My own banshee sisters, I can sense their pain as if its my own.

I failed Silvermoon.

I failed you Aleria.

And I failed the rest of our family as well.

I'm not the ranger elf I once was.

And I shall never be so again...

Nature repels me, I am unnatural, no longer one of her children.

If I am denied a home, then I shall carve one out of my enemies.

It is our right, the dead deserve a place of home.

No matter who we were.

And what we are now.

... Arthas will pay for my suffering.

His blood shall be mine!

And no one will stop me from taking revenge.

"Our curse, Our Power, And our Destiny...
Never to be fulfilled while we are still alive.
But never to be sated. Without purpose in our death.
That is the calling, of a Forsaken."

Not my best work, but still, there ya have it.

Edit: Grr! More typos!
Edit Again: Sorry forgot to include challenge in the title, won't happen again I swear ^_^
Edit AGAIN: Grr! This gets annoying, fixed the space mistake in title.

Hehe. I was going to try one of Sylvanus. But perhaps Jaina or Maiev and Illidan would be better

Actually that spawns two ideas. Perhaps I shall have time to do it before I finish.

And so far no BG2 NPCs, or NPCs from any of the main games here. Maybe I'll try something with Deekin before I'm done.

But this particular one, was good as usual. It didn't answer the question I've always wondered(how'd she go from banshee to Dark Ranger), but it did provide a real look into her.

And have I mentioned how interesting your picture stories are? I've never seen them before some of the TES:O stories showed up, and suddenly they are and you are. Very nifty.

Aw thanks Kellen

And I agree that it doesn't answer that ever elusive question, but I decided not to get involved with that due to the fact there has been little evidence to support that large quantity of theories surrounding her getting her own body back. ;)

The only thing I found was clear, is that she truely despises the undead, and that includes herself. I wanted to actually tap into her inner thoughts, including those related to her elder sister who disappeared two decades beforehand. :(

I think that was intergal, because apparantly she became a ranger because of Aleria. -_-

Personally I'm planning on making one about her rise to power, sort of reverse of my direction I think, chronologically speaking though. ;)

But at any rate, can't wait to see whatever works you've been hiding from us Kellen. :D

C'mon people, I'm starting to really feel like I'm hogging the competition's entry record.
We need more diversity, regardless wether they end up being on the same topic. :)

That's a great story, Solar. I like Sylvanus, too. Always thought her ability to turn those she killed into undead, even if temporarily, is a cool power.

I haven't played beyond the Frozen Throne but I read the WOW Wiki yesterday and it stated that one reason could be that Arthas had given back her body as a reward for her services - somehow I find that unlikely though. Arthas doesn't seem to be someone who would reward another. Probably, Sylvanus managed to steal it back or something else.

And so far no BG2 NPCs, or NPCs from any of the main games here. Maybe I'll try something with Deekin before I'm done.

Well, it is a fanfiction challenge, any fic based on an existing game, show, comic etc all qualifies. :P But, yeah, I look forward to see your Deekin fic. Maybe you can convince why I shouldn't find Deekin annoying. :P

No, you aren't. If you feel like it, write some more. I would love to read. \

I wouldn't exactly call it a reward that she got her own body back (Though technically does it ever actually say it is her body?). Yet otoh Arthas was willing to risk his life for his servitors back in Lordaron, or at least he refused to leave them behind. And there was what he called a friendship between him and Kel'Thuzad.

But at any rate, can't wait to see whatever works you've been hiding from us Kellen. :D

Can't wait to get working on it, and getting through it.

However another work(which in no way could ever fit the topic of this challenge) keeps pulling my attention, and right now I have a terrible headache. Not to mention other things to do.

EDIT: And I don't think I mentioned it yet, but loved the pictures you chose.
