Most of the games that feature spellcasters forces a player to make a decision at one point or another whether to wear a robe or an armor. Bethesda saved us this dilema by making robes utterly useless. If you decide to wear a robe with your character, sou can as well wear the clothes you have while escaping from the Imperail prison. In this mod, I would like to change this.

Robes:
I aim to make much more robes, give them more describing names (ranger's robe, Shamans's robe, Mystic robe, ...) and give each some enchantment, taht would correspond with the name, so that the robe is really useful (i.e. Ranger's robe gives you a some shield and improves your marksman, etc.). Also I would like to add these new robes to levelled lists and place them on NPC and make them available to buy at shops just like armor. The quality of the robes would depend on PC's level. So, for example at level 5 you would have a chance to buy/find a Lesser Mystic robe, whil at level 15 you could find a Legendary Mystic robe with higher enchantments.
The robes will be sporting meshes from my Robe Mesh Replacer2 and some new work as well and some of the good robe retxtures available (depends on permissions of course).
In short, I want to have a reason to wear a robe!!!

PROGRES SO FAR:
The enchantments are of course subjects of change, so criticise!

Acolyte Robe: Posted Image
Especially servants of the Nine ar awarded by these robes for their service, but you can find random ones everywhere in Cyrodiil. This robe providesincreased stamina and helath and it alos protects its wearer in danger
Shield 5
Fortyfy Health 50
Fortyfy Fatigue 50

Elven Robe: Posted Image
Like Elven armor, these robes are a choce of those who want a decent protection and a good appearance. Designed for Elven clergy, these robes make your load easier on you and help you appear wiser.
Shield 8
Feather 75
Fortyfy Intelligence 10

Shaman Robe: Posted Image
Worn by Orcish shamans and priests, these robes do not look fancy, but asre supposed to scare enemies off. To survive in dangerous territories shamans need to be strong and endure many hardships. To defend themselves, they must be able to use their staff with deadly precision.
Fortyfy Strength 7
Fortyfy Endurance 7
Fortfy Blunt 15

Vampyre Robes: Posted Image
Few who sas these robes lived long enough to tell others about them. Worn by the most powerfull of vampyre Partiarchs and Matriarchs these robes robes contains ome of the power of their wearers.
Sun Damage
Fortyfy Intelligence, Agility, Strength, Willpower 15
Weakness to Fire 10
Night Eye

Dark Elven Robe: Posted Image
Probably a unique item.

Imperial Battlemage: Posted Image
The imperial battlemages prefere to have a combination of an armor and a robe to be easily distinguishable while walking the streets of the Imperial city.
Armor Class: 30, Heavy Armor

Imperial Dragon Battlemage: Posted Image
Only the best battlemages in the imperial legion can be given the honot ot protect the imperila palace. With this honor comes also this robe. It provides good protection and also helps the wearer resist the power of unfrendly spells.
Armor Class: 40, Heavy Armor
Resist Magic: 25

War Priest's Robe: Posted Image
new:Posted Image
Being very old, these robes are rquite unique in Cyrodiil. It is said that they were made for priests who were supporing fighters in wars. Therefore these robes helps priests to do they job more effectively.
Shield 15
Fortify Blunt Weapon 10
Fortify Restoration 10

Sorcerer's Robe: Posted Image
Rather common robes found throughout Cyrodiil. Almost everyone of them is enchanted, but the enchantment depends on who made them and why.
Shield: 10
Various boosts

Wizard Robe: Posted Image
Except for the unique ones, Wizard robes are the most expensive and rarest in all Cyrodiil. Worn almost exclusively by the high ranking members of the Mages Guild, these robes provide very high protection against both magical and phisical attacks as well as boosts to the attributes favoured by mages.
Shield: 20
Resist magic: 35
Fortify Intelligence and Willpower: 10

Warior Mage's Robes: Posted Image
Dark Robe mostly suited for battlemages who prefere imposing dread upon their enemies before destroying themwith their power.

Warlock's robe: Posted Image
Warlocks are mages who prefere using destruction magic to weaken adn later to destroy their foe. Their garments are made to reflect this inclination.

Mage's Robe: Posted Image
Like Wizard's robe, also Mage's Robe is warn almost exclusively y the members of the Mage's Guild, but unlike theaffore mentioned one, Mage's robe is much simplier and thus more wide spread.

Mystic Robe: Posted Image
These robes date far back to Cyrodiil's history and very little is known about their origin. Although these are not very common, a lucky traveller might come over them throughout all province.

Illusionist's Robe: Posted Image
Appearances are most important for Illusionists. Even their clothing must be both elegant, practical and well suited for both sities and wilderness. These robes offer all this as well as much more.

Battlemage's Robe: Posted Image
Athough the best known battlemages are the ones gurading the Imperial City, there are others as well, although perhaps not so noble and skilled. These robes are rather common on mages who seek ballance between magic and protection.

Staves:
In my opinion a mage sould ahave a staff and be able to use it as a melee weapon. There are mods out there that add new meshes and/or maek it possible to use the vanilla ones as melee weapons. I would like to add these (if I get permission) and/or some new meshes to the game with new enchantments. I believe that a mages staff sould not only make damage to mage's enemies, but sould as well give the mage some boosts. I know it is impossible with normal enchanting (WHY!!! Bethesda, WHY!!!), but I hope there is a way to do this using scripts.

HELP WANTED:
As you can see thsi is rather ambitious project, so I would very much like to ask for help. I can more or less manage the modelling, although another modeller could have another ideas, so would be appreciated as well, but I will be in a desperate need of a scripter for the staves (see above), a texturer most probably and someone who is good with the Construction Set and will be able to add all these things to the game. And of course any ideas are welcommed.

So if you think you can/want to help, please, post here or PM me.

Never even noticed this post before

Anyway I really like the idea and those robes do look wonderful. I am afraid I can't be much help with any of the scripting, modeling or texturing. Just about the only thing on your list I do know how to do is add them to shops :)

One little suggestions though, I would suggest keeping them out of leveled lists as that would cause problems with a lot of other major mods (Such as OOO, Frans, FCOM) In place of that perhaps you could put them in places you can't just walk into like the Arcane University and make sure their prices reflect their power so even if someone did getto them at level one they would be unlikely to be able to buy it. Also you could give them to certain npcs so the player has to be able to either kill or steal them in order to get them (Would only work with certain ones, such as the Vampyre one)

Well, yes, this is a prblem. Tha aim of this mod is to add these things to the gam, so you can get them in the same manner as armor - buy, find in chests, on NPCs, but I'm aware of the fact that this might conflict with the big mods. I'll most probably have to come up with a way to reduce conflicts, but putting the stuff to chests and spcific NPCs is just not what I want.

And some new pictures again.
Sorry I have run out of inspiration for the enchantments , so any suggtestion is welcommed . I suppose that these are the last robe meshes for a while, so now I'll concentrate on staves. Also almost all the robes have female variants now (with an exception of Mystic robe and Warlock robe, as the mesh is rather complicated and feminizing it si beyond me).

I have found and older mesh of mine:

and concider adding it to this mod, but am not sure. So why not to leave the decision on others - you. So, do you like it?

Hi, I have jsut tested the staves and the scripts and they look good. At that occasion I also took some pics. There will be much more staves and they are all ready, but I did not want to take shots of each of them. Take this a s a teaser:

And a small question for you. What do you think would be the highest levels of enchantments? I mean I have the Shield enchantment on robes up to 20 points of magnitude and on Hoods, Boots and Gloves up to 4 points. Do you think it is too much or too low?
Also I have some boosts ther like Fortify Skill and Attribute - highest up to 10-13 points of magnitude. What do you think about this?
I'm a bit of a power player, so I don't want to make it an uber stuff.

I like the mod, but i am no modder, i have ideas however.
if you were to make a pair of robes where the hole at the
end of the sleeves is enlarged so that they hang down.
and tiber sebtims scepter that rally people and comands humanoids.
if you were to make the sceptre wich i hope you do i would be very happy to see some new meshes.

cheers
