I have tryed to download and install some mods . But , with some , they only show
invisble characters in the character creation screen when making new game , and some
even make the eyes black on characters inside the game .... worldwide .
When I look in the folders , there are sometimes only one file to copy to the data folder ,
but far most have several folders with other folders inside and so on .
And here is where I need help . Just how exactly do you put those folders into the data
folder ?
I have tryed to put them in as they are , but it doesnt seem to work .
I have absolutely no idea , how to install textures and meshes , and no idea either
how to install new races . I have tryed , but as said , they turn up invisible and black eyes .
Does someone have time to explain how this works ?

I would suggest extracting the files to your desktop first and then from there drag them into your data folder, overwriting when asked. Another thing that might help is to read this, it is a guide on how to find/install/use mods and for the most part covers everything you need to know about mods.

Also, what mods are you trying to install? The missing eyes sound like you installed some mods that don't work with each other

Thank you Karandras , I hope you didnt sit down and write all that (in the link) . That was a Bit
of reading there .)
It will take a little while before I can remember all that , so I hope this "thread" will not be deleted
so I have something to go back and look at .
It was useful , and I will try right away .
What mods you ask ......... well , in the forum , I didnt find a well known question as to what
mods to use , so I didnt want to ask that , rather I would try out myself , and what is to my
liking . Just needed the help on the how .
In the reading link you provided , maybe I missed it , but what if you do copy files into lets say
the meshes folder , and you overwrite a few other files in there , will the effect of the old ones still
work ?
Or would I have to just remove them first ?
The files I have downloded from here , a lot of them requires a mod that is not on this site ,
so I will go see if I can find those . Or maybe I just missed a page somewhere .
Anyway , thank you again Karandras , the link was useful .)

Glad you found it useful :) (and no I didn't write that, that honor goes to dev_akm and all the others who helped him with it )

If you overwrite some files in the meshes folder that means thats whatever was there before will be gone completely and whatever you added will take it's place, and no you don't have to remove the old one first.

Also if you are missing some (or any for that matter) of the required mods that will lead to a lot of missing meshes and textures. If you know what mods you need then try searching for them here that site has nearly every mod yet made for oblivion :)
