after some time now, and after reading the Dark Elf Trilogy i wanted to play BGT again.

i have the full BGT+BP+TDD+SoS+ etc etc installation on DVD's (NOTE : installation on DVD's is full installed BGT with other mods). and i was hoping just to copy/paste it back on my hard drive and play the game...but, that was not the case. when i run the game exe i get the standard instal me window...

i know that most of the games wont work if you just copy/paste their instalation, but i have moved BGT installation around my hard drive many time's before, using copy/paste, and it worked.

do i need to change something in baldur or autorun file? i have changed the paths but it wont work.. any solutions would be welcomed.

if nothing will work, i will try to instal Baldrus Gate SoA and ToB and then just copy/paste the BGT installation over it...

i dont have the nerves to go through the whole mode installation process again....

tnx in advance!

i will try to install Baldur's Gate II:SoA and ToB and then just copy/paste the BGT installation over it...

As far as I know, this will be your only option, as you don't have the ToB registration in the windows reg file anymore. It's essential.

You don't have BG2 installed? If not install it, once that is done rename BGII - SOA to something like BGII - SOA1. Copy the stuff on your DVD into the Black Isle directory. Now you should have two installs of BG2, the one you just copied BGII - SOA and the one you renamed BGII - SOA1. Its how I maintain multiple installs of the game on my PC.

Solaufein, I do hope you save some space by only storing one copy of the CD2, CD3, CD4, and CD5 files on the hard drive, by directing the Alias'es in the baldur.ini into the C:\Program Files\interplay\BGII - SOA1, or something like that. It saves more than 2 gigs. ^_^

run bgmain.exe, not baldur.exe. If It won't work, then you need registry entries, which means installation of SoA+ToB

Space is of no consequence. My hard drive is quite large as is my other drives on my PC. I have 12.8G being used on one Black Isle folder as it is. :)

- I have backups of BG1, BG2, BGT installations, their override folders seperately, and several BG2 (and BGT) installations. I guess it takes about 20-25 gigs altogether=)
