Greetings. I was about to install a few smaller weidu mods together with a bigger one, TDD. That was until i found this post in another forum:

"Hey! Someone?s in my dungeon. I must see to it."

Then when you finally escape Irenicus? dungeon and there?s supposed to be that huge fight between him and Imoen and the Mage guild stops it and imprisons Imoen and Irenicus, INSTEAD you get Imoen saying ?Hey. You?re famous?can you sign my T-shirt?? and Irenicus retorts ?Sure. I?d love to have you come with me.? and they start to fight magic wise and then disappear. All of the intense passion has been erased from BGII with ?The Darkest Day? so I would advise against installing it even with the extra crap that they give you if storyline means anything to you. Also there?s bugs. Leaving Irenicus?s dungeon you get attacked by a two headed Giant and you get NO XP from killing it.

The altered lines thing is actually from the Shorter Cutscenes mod, which may well have been integrated into TDD (since various random and inappropriate things were), or you may have installed it yourself if you put in Ease-Of-Use without checking the component list.

In any case, not to rain on anybody's parade but it's been pretty clear that TDD was horrible since its initial release almost four years ago. Any reputable list of mod recommendations will omit TDD. If it doesn't, find new friends.

What is your opinion? To hell with new and better items if it means destroying the feeling of the game. Is it true? I would hate it to start something this awful! :crying:

I want to play something rewarding in plot and role play terms, something big. If the above is true, i will have to install SOS again with my list of smaller mods. Unless someone knows of something else of this caliber...

That post you quoted is B.S.!!!

Not True!

Also there?s bugs.

No Bugs!!!! Not with the current version!

Leaving Irenicus?s dungeon you get attacked by a two headed Giant

Yes, it is called an Etten.

you get NO XP from killing it.

False!

pretty clear that TDD was horrible

It is not horrible, but it is clearly not the best.

So you have played it to the end. Does it have ANY funny dialogues? Even 1 will ruin the experience for me. Characters may say funny things and it is nice within the limits of their background, but this is a role playing game and not a stand up comedy session. This is what i am afraid of. I wouldn't like to play something like it. I play first and foremost for the feeling, for the role play. I fear the disruption of my experience...

I believe that TDD was disowned by its creators. It provides a lot of content, but the quality level isn't as high as what you will find in many newer mods. Take that as you will. It still seems fairly popular for many mega-installs.

There are a lot of side quests and a BIG mega quest after the end of SoA. Unfortunaely there are no banters between NPC's of TDD. Couple of funny anecdotes and one hilarious event (I thought). Tough fights and a pretty decent chain of events. Of course some really nice spells and items. I liked it the most because it brings NPC's back from the first game and a few new ones. Just a nice parallel between the two games. I found the main story line a bit more involved than Shadows over Soubar (which I like too). Those are my thoughts.

Exactly what i am afraid of. Thank you for confirming it. I won't put it. Everything else as you describe it sounds perfect, but the anecdotes for me will ruin the whole game. Thanks.

To second Chev, I can confirm I got xp for killing the Ettin. About 9000xp, I guess. And there were no funny lines at all between Imoen and Irenicus.

I don't know about the rest yet.
