Back when Pica first made his existence known, I very carefully checked to make sure the birds did have animations. I did *not* think to check whether or not they had circles; it didn't occur to me that that might be important. Turns out it is: Creatures without circles crash the game the minute they start to banter. Pica-the-magpie works fine when he's an imp given the banter files & scripts; with a bird animation substituted (and nothing else changed), the game crashes as soon as he speaks.

So, I'm reserving the possibility of recoloring an imp, but would like to see if maybe one of the brilliant people here can (and will) do a miracle and make us a magpie. Edit: And I was just told that recoloring an imp would be as complicated as making a new animation. Live and learn.

Animation request: Pica the Magpie

1. Are you looking for original art, photoshopped art or a portrait edit?

I have no idea whether or not one of the game's in-game bird animations can be adapted for use; if so--fantastic. The eagle is the most detailed of the lot in-game.

If not--do what you can. Or, look at this, laugh, and go on to another project ;)

3. Describe the character's features (face, eyes, hair, clothing, etc)

11. What game and what mod is this for?

BG2, the Mage Trio

If you are happy with the BG bird animations you can still use it. You will just need to rip and reconfigure the animation to use a different animation slot (one with a circle)
Your best bet is probably to convert the bird animation to an ice wind dale style weapon animation slot as a number of these are still free. Then you can import the new animation into BG and it will have a circle.

I posted a brief guide on how to convert planescape torment animations to the IWD style in the following thread. While it will not be the exact same for you as the bird animation does not use the exact same style as the torment animation, it should help you.

Once you convert it to the proper style, you will need to import the now IWD style animation back into the game. A brief tutorial on how to do that can be found here
http://vlad.blackwyr...net/tutors.html

The tutorial is pretty good but unclear in places. You can look at the bestial animations mod over at blackwyrm which also does this if you are still unclear on
how things work after reading the tutorial.

Good luck with your animation
