this is because i do not know what to do w/ the - in the folder name, and using the run option directly from the start menu quits out of WeiDU as soon as the operation finishes making it impossible for me to read errors.
So is there either anyway to get the DOSshell to automatically start in the current folder like win98 or what is the DOS name for BGII - SoA?

You need to place Weidu in the same root directory as your IE game. From there, the DOS shell can be run straigh from the Menu-> Accessories-> Command prompt.
In there, to change directory use the cd command. hence "cd x:\program files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA
with x being the drive letter. Once there, the base directory showing as the base of DOS should alter to the new folder and you can edit away.
Hope this helps

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?
Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.
Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

Start in: %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%
to
Start in: C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA - or whatever your BG2 driectory is.
Your command prompt will automatically startup with your BG2 folder in the command line. You won't have to use 'cd\' to swap to it everytime. A useful little time saver. Especially if, like me, you're constantly closing windows you intend to minimize.

In WinXP, if you use cmd rather than command from Run you can use path names with more than 8 letters and path names that include spacesTHanks, I was running command from Run in the start menu, which imposes the 8character limit etc.
didn't realise there was a difference.
