I was thinking that a Solo Swashbuckler might be a good character to go with.

They'll get a killer AC, can wear both magic and damage resistant stuff, and can just sneask past battles that are too tough.

Not a bad unconventional solo pick, eh?

Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.

It should be OK choice, as a thief is the only base class that all the other Solo multiclass builds are build on(cause of the remove traps Xp etc.), except sorcerer that is. If you have the rogue-rebalance mod, the Swashbucler is a little better still... And halfling is the best race you get, if you aren't going for dual or multi-class. One big minus you still have to remember, the no backstab bonus damage, but the same amount of damage can be delt with sufficiant preparations, I suppose.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

It's the preferred thief class of mine. Taking a hit on the back stabbing is not a big deal since I never use it. Getting an extra point in two weapon fighting is a big plus.

I think that if I ever solo BGII, the Swashbuckler will definitely be the class of choice.

Dual the buckler to a fighter on level 11.

OR, Dual a fighter to a thief for UAI and Carsomyr 50% MR.

If you add to that 10% seldarine, 15% gaxx, and whatever else, you'll be doing FINE against mages and the like. Also, you will use scrolls, etc. And you'll just obliterate the rest with your might! :o

If you're going that way, may as well start with a Wizard Slayer, but that's not the point of this thread. :)

I think with a Solo Swash, it's pretty nice because you level up so quick and once you get UAI it'll be good. I think it's possible to do with SoA, although I think it would be really tough until you get the HLA, and you have to really work out which quests you can do which can make the gameplay feel a bit artifical sometimes. ToB is probably out of the question though.

I'm just wondering why you think ToB will be tougher? You can basically make yourself close to 100% immune to Magic and Physical damage. The rest might take a while, but shouldn't be too bad.

Eh, I think I'm better off with a F/T anyway.
