I never got them before, and Quayle didn't die.

You should always get at least Kalah's equipment (when in his whatever form) that drops when he dies. I don't remember wrt Quayle at the moment, but if you do get it, he doesn't need to die (for whatever reason; can't remember if I ever knew why or not).

Also, identify yourself PLZ.

The TLK flags seem to work OK now.

That's Sim. It's always Sim.

Actually, it's devSin.

Sorry, the thread is old but the TP2 is fresh baked bread! And I did post the suggestion to PPG, but...
The TP2 is not a fix but an attempt to add some compat to Tactics. Although designed for BP it will work without it--actually, that's part of the design.
It has an added benefit of preventing Tactics from flushing the IDS's. Naughty Tactics. You can make that adjustment in your own game very easily without using the TP2.

I already installed it before Fixpack anyway.

Also, [ quote ] broken for you?

Cause you don't need it after Hotel Irenicus?

and what exactly is the problem with keeping it 24/7, apart from whatever hellish logic the BW people apply to biffing?
(BW = Big World, not a typo on BWL)

Yes-yes, the first part is well-known and why we still love the mod. It's things like the 2nd that makes me nervous, so I want g3Fixpack to fix-or-flag anything that slips thru. If you fixed it locally, fine, but some of us are not such Big Brains to know how to do this.

You need Big Brains to overwrite an item in the mod directory?

Curses. Kelsey is now stuck in some kind of look and keeps saying his banter and romance lines, endlessly. Getting rid of Faster Romances from tb#tweaks helped (I usually use it on Medium, now I used it on light... perhaps Light has wrong numbers in?).

Yuck. This is caused by a typo in tb#tweaks (apparently I can't even copy-paste correctly numbers from a window to the other, or solve a simple logarithmic equation on paper). The tb#tweaks forum contains the fix.

I did some self-standing fights (Shady Character, the two idiots in the street, Amalas, freeing Viconia, Valeria's ambush), recruited Kelsey and Keto.

Kelsey knows a shitload of spells as a Wild Mage (up to level 8th), and he was at 13th level (remember I started out at 1.2M XP). For Kelsey and Keto the 'adjust XP' option of L1NPC didn't work (it did for Aerie, it didn't for Haer Dalis).

Got Haer Dalis' mission, went into the sewers, fought the Sea Troll, fought the Raksasha (Kelsey casted Death Spell and then it was mop-up time... it still was tough). I didn't try to crack the Gang though.

Mekhrat was a tough nut as well: I ended up sending summons one at a time at him, until he ran out of spells and got Badly Hurt; after that he fell to normal fighting (but still hard because of his multiple Fire Shields).

Got Haer Dalis, finished cleaning Mekhrat's room, exited via the shortcut to the Bridge District, end of session.

Did the Planar Prison.
The initial ambush was doable with some prebuffing (just StoneSkin) and some luck + insects + summons (Keto the Geomantic Sorcerer looks like being on to something... to bad she won't get Improved Alacrity, or I wouldn't need Kelsey the Wild Mage at all). Unfortunately, the Thralls from the brazier tend to rush in, making matters harder. Ditto for the first trap (Githyanki) - ligth prebuffing + luck will do it.
For the second zone (Umber Hulks, Chundane, Wyvern) I had to resort to cheese (have Kelsey rush in Invisible and cast Death Spell to get rid of the Hulks) and then really needed luck and CTRL-R to remove Chaos (apparently every enemy mage knows only Chaos ...yeah, I should memorize Chaotic Commands, I know.). As usual, thanks to Improved Calls for Help I tend to fight two groups of enemies at once.
I killed the Warden without too much trouble (again, Summon Spiders rocks at early levels), and CTRL-Y'd the Air Elementals (I have, like, 2 +2 weapons, and I don't like trying this boring fight twenty times until I get a streak of lucky dice rolls... and my best AC right now is 2). The final guy (Death Knight avatar, can't remember his name) was astonishingly easy because I approached him from the South, thus not summoning his guardians (again, the Hulks would have fallen prey to Death Spell, so there must be more at work here than just missing mobs).
Now Haer Dalis has -1 AC with just Melodic Chain, yay! I think I'll NI some guys for better stats (Aerie is a F/C with 9 STR and CON but 16 INT and CHA, that's going to be reversed :P ) and then I should be finally out of the hardest phase (A.K.A. "everybody hits my party every time").

Killed Mencar and did a bit of buying. Now all my tanks (Ennelia, Aerie, Haer Dalis) all have an AC of -1 or less. Things would all be nice and cozy, if Kelsey hadn't started stuttering. Fuck.

Luckily, I am not a no-skill noob, and I quickly set into investigation:
OUTER_SET x = 30
COPY_EXISTING ~j#klsy.bcs~ ~override~
	~baldur.bcs~ ~override~
	~dplayer2.bcs~ ~override~
	DECOMPILE_BCS_TO_BAF
		REPLACE_EVALUATE ~RESPONSE #100~ BEGIN
			x += 1
		END "RESPONSE #100
		ActionOverride(Player1,DisplayString(Myself,#%x%))"
	COMPILE_BAF_TO_BCS
In-game Ennelia started spamming Haer' Dalis': ~Your folly exceeds my patience and your tedium my intellect. Farewell and good riddence, mice. I shall deliver the jewel myself.~ - string 292, linked to this block in baldur.bcs:
IF
  CheckStatGT(Player3,75,RESISTMISSILE)
  OR(2)
	CheckStatGT(Player3,85,RESISTMISSILE)
	!Kit(Player3,WILDMAGE)
THEN
  RESPONSE #100
//	ActionOverride(Player1,DisplayString(Myself,292)) // ~Your folly exceeds my patience and your tedium my intellect. Farewell and good riddence, mice. I shall deliver the jewel myself.~ [HAERDA86]
	ActionOverride(Player3,ApplySpellRES("TB#resi4",Player3)) // <Invalid Strref 120591>
	Continue()
END
OK, so the Avoid Too High Armor Resistance trick from Refinements needs to be refined (Kelsey was wielding that bow from FR that gives you 100% Missile Resistance... dropping it solved the issue). And my lazy inner newbie would have flamed a fully innocent JCondom! :(

EDIT: I decided to comment out that section of code in Refs (and remove it altogether for the new quinquiennial update of Refs).

So this is due to a Refinements thing? Several of us thought it was something about the bow, Justice I think it's called.

ORLY? I love placing blame on people other than myself, but not when they're innocent :)

To fix this, comment this section:

I was going to do the Xzar quest following QuestPack's alternate route (tell Meronia that Xzar asked you for the bird, then warning Xzar that the bird isn't Montaron). Dialogue ends, Xzar casts the spell to reveal Lucette, he says "And so the assassin is revealed!" and then both he and Lucette SWTTUTA*. If I talk to Lucette she gives her usual "And so the necromancer is dead" line, if I talk to Xzar he says "Now really go get Montaron for me".

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd point this in SCSII's wild direction, but I obviously don't know. Did anyone play that particular QP's alternate plot with SCSII installed?

*:
Spoiler

I've attached a save before revealing the assassin to Xzar, just in case (but it's probably quicker to install DBG and then fast-play to this point, CTRL-Y'ing Prebek's house mid-way).

Restoring Xzar's scripts to pre-SCSII didn't help. Adding Start/EndCutSceneMode to harpass1.bcs like as follows did (I've edited only the second block FWIW, I don't know if I need the first one also).

[codebox]
IF
Global("D0Harpers","GLOBAL",3)
THEN
RESPONSE #100
StartCutSceneMode()
FaceObject("Lyros")
ActionOverride("Lyros",FaceObject([NEUTRAL.HUMANOID.HUMAN.FIGHTER_THIEF.133.FEMALE.CHAOTIC_GOOD]))

ActionOverride("Lyros",FaceObject([NEUTRAL.HUMANOID.HUMAN.FIGHTER_THIEF.133.FEMALE.CHAOTIC_GOOD]))
ActionOverride("Lyros",StartDialogueNoSet([PC]))
ActionOverride("Lyros",FaceObject([NEUTRAL.HUMANOID.HUMAN.FIGHTER_THIEF.133.FEMALE.CHAOTIC_GOOD]))
Wait(1)
ActionOverride("Lyros",SetSequence(SEQ_CAST))
Wait(1)
CreateVisualEffectObject("SPFIREPI",Myself)
Kill(Myself)
EndCutSceneMode()
END[/codebox]

Finished the Harpers plot. Another issue (forwarded to Sim as well): I went on the second floor after killing all Harpers in the first, while holding on to the Harper's Amulet. The Ghosts delivered their usual speech ("I see you have the Amulet, blah blah blah") but were still red and attacked me.

EDIT 18/05: I've started Mae' Var's quest, robbed the temple, took the hook for the Fallen Paladins, and decided to recruit Keldorn in the interim for clearing the Sewer Gang and doing his quest (I'll send him to his family, not keep him - I'll take Yoshimo along to Spellhold, since I plan on recruiting Sola).

Did the Unseeing Eye & killed the Sewer Gang, sent Keldorn to his family, did the TOD quest.

'Generic' issues:
- I sent Keldorn home when I met him, killing his zombie. I then re-recruited him and went back into the sewers. His zombie re-appeared and attacked me.
- The first gauth you meet in the niche (after the 'The Eye Is Blind bit) SWHTUHA'd.

BG2Tweaks:
- 'Unidentified Potions and Gems' should unidentify also 'common' rings and amulets.
- The Emphatic Maniphestation autodies if you installed 'perfect HPs for everybody'.

Freedom's Reign (?):
- The Emerald Sword doesn't protect from Beholder's and Gauth's Hold eyes.

SCSII:
- If you have autopause on 'Target Gone', being hit by a trap or similar with the SCSII AI Script will launch an infinite Autopause cycle.

TOD:
- Most of the loot you get is already identified.
- Balaor seriously looks like a typo :)
- Rather than hitting the va#spy* creatures with fire, you should allow also hitting the real creatures with fire (so that you can cast Agannazar's or similar rather than being 'forced' to an unsafe Fireball).

EDIT: I've started doing the CH3 quests (siding with Aran), I've done the two throwaway missions. I'm also doing the Bard Stronghold quests (Universal Strongholds, yada yada) as they come along (I refused the Cleric one because it's the pointless one). One of Sensuki's vampires appeared on the catwalk on the second level of Delosar's, which is inaccessible by the outside (you need to pass through Delosar's to get there, you can't just walk there). Just a random, unfixable annoyance of course.

EDIT II: Now I've recruited Valygar, did the Mimic Blood Quest, got started on the Umar Hills Temple quest, had him open the Sphere and then promtly kicked him. I've also started working my way through eliminating the Vampires.

I noticed in your opening post you mentioned that the GS kit killed the Refinements Sorcerer HLA tables.  Are you sure about that, since I believe I used a custom HLA table for the GS and not the normal Sorcerer HLA table for this exact reason.

I didn't check, I just went with the current wisdom WRT the old Druidic Sorceror. Besides, I'd rather have at least one (single|dual)-class non-sorc mage in any party ;)

Ah, gotcha.  Yeah, I recoded a lot of the old Druidic Sorcerer kit, and the Geomantic Sorcerer uses the kit system with its own HLA table.  There aren't any of the finicky scripted applications of kit features either to worry about.   And yeah, I like having a vanilla mage in most of my groups as well.  Otherwise all those spells go to waste and you aren't as flexible in your options.

Anyway, while I was cleaning up on the various Graveyard stuff before definitively leaving (doing so in ch6 is ill advised), Keto had her "what does your name mean?" dialogue while she was casting a spell :(

It appears she doesn't have ActionListEmpty() in her bcs script, is that as usual or an oversight?

That's pretty usual, I don't recall any NPCs which make use of that command offhand. I can understand why they didn't, perhaps, but it might be something good to put in--is it worth flogging, do you think?
