I'm sure at least some of you did something game-influenced after some very intense playing, that made you question your sanity. It happens to me quite often, especially early in the morning or late at night when I'm tired and my brain doesn't work properly.

When I was playing Planescape: Torment a lot, I once saw a girl wearing an earring similiar to those worn by thugs in Hive, my main source of income at the beginning of the game. So, my first subconcious (I swear it!) thought was: "Hey, here comes my 30 copper!"

Around 3 am, when I was going to the toilet, barely seeing anything, I was having troble opening the door, as I was trying to do so by pointing an imaginary cursor on it.

I have to write an essay about something connected with human rights. In this thread: http://www.shsforums...topic=33705&hl= I've read Nix's post: "But, Cowled Wizards don't have jurisdiction over cleric spells! I smell the potential for a lawsuit." and for a moment there I thought: "that would be a good topic!"

I used to play Settlers II a lot. Nothing was the same then - when I saw people repairing or bulding something, they weren't normal people to my eyes. They were pixelated people from Settlers.

I hope I'm not the only one who can recall such stories or I'll have to consider a proffesional help

Back in the hazy days of my youth when The Sims was my game of choice I kept trying to save my life before I did something that I thought might not go as planned.

Also, I began to view things in terms of Globals, and refer to be people by alignments. As in, 'yah, Rachel is like, so, totally lawful neutral. Boring!'

Given that my life has revolved around games for the past 20 years, more or less, it's hardly surprising that I should be similarly afflicted. I actually learned to type by playing MUD at Essex Uni.

I remember (back when I used to play Populous) watching the hills fly past while I was on a train journey and thinking about flattening the land.

I also recall coming into land at Seattle and thinking the town looked exactly like Sim City (Sim City 2000, I think it was back then).

And Ultima Online dominated my life and thoughts for seven years...enough to make me think about provoking two fat pigeons that were sat outside my window (provoke was a bard skill...you could play a tune to get monsters to fight each other. Bards in UO were very powerful, unlike Haer'Dalis...)

It's bad enough that my dreams are dominated by games. I used to dream of UO all the time, but I had a lot of Quake dreams back when I was playing regularly, and I've had more than a few BG dreams. They're usually clean, but I did havequite a naughty dream about Yoshimo the other night... I blame Romantic Encounters.

In the olden days when I played a lot of Tetris I used to look at the city skyline while I was driving to work to see which buildings would fit together if I inverted some of them.

A couple of nights ago we were watching a promo for a TV replay of "Cat Woman" starring Halle Berry (of course). I reflexively said to my wife, "Viconia would be good in that role." She didn't know what I was talking about (of course).

You know you've been spending too much time modding when real life events spark mod ideas. You overhear your neighbors arguing, and think "Wow, that would be a good banter between Viconia and somebody. Who?" You're having a conversation with your lover and he says something that makes you laugh hysterically, and think it would be a good line for one NPC or another.

lol, I use in-game terms in real life. Like if I trip and fall, my first immediate thought is "oh crap I rolled a nat 1 on my Balance check"
I also refer to my friends by alignment. I'm NG, btw. (me, not my character)
Also when the going gets tough for me, I'll often think "Hm, what would (insert character's name) do in this situation?"
Although more often than not, their solution isnt as good as mine. But sometimes I actually get insight from thinking these things.
