As a newb to KotOR I, I kinda just thought the way to go was to get as many Jedi in the party as possible. After all, they're Jedi, they should be the best to have around, right?

But I'm wondering, can non Jedi hold their own as NPCs? Carth, Zaalbar, and Mission seem really cool, and I was at least considering keeping Carth for the long-term (he's doing well so far with two blasters for me).
Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!

Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.

To be honest, it might be a bit more difficult, but not much as the game is made so you can go with any class and any combo you wish... besides that, in the end, it's more about luck or strategy, than anything else. For example the last fight... :whistling:

Good strategies on normal game:
Stun weapons + Plague(Affliction)
Slow + Burst of Speed
etc.

I find the non Jedi characters useful in some situations. Carth and HK-47 both give you a lot of firepower which is good for eliminating enemies who aren't armed with lightsabers or equipped with energy shields, which is most of them. Both Canderous and Zaalbar are good in melee, though Zaalbar can't wear armour and is going to get hit a lot. I find Mission really useful if I'm playing with a Consular and using Stasis a lot, since she get's her sneak attack damage against targets in stasis - and presumably against targets stunned with a force wave or something else. She's often in my party at the end, and gets a lot of hits in on helpless targets.

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.
