I'm playing PS:T with most of the tweaks in the 3 Qwinn packs installed, including Stackable Items.

I'm not sure, but I may have seen funny behavior selling rings and bracelets that are stacked in TNO's inventory, to a merchant at the Sigil Marketplace. When reselling, I'm not sure if the merchant code always understands that it's dealing with 2 items instead of 1 item during the sale, for example.

A good setup to try to reproduce would be 2 sets of 2 braclets in TNO's inventory, and to watch the TNO's gold and treasure available for sale by the merchant. I'd watch the selling price, the number available in the merchant's inventory following sale, the cost of selling a second to the merchant, and the effect on the TNO's gold, etc... Anything like that.

Also, it's probably engine related and not scriptable, but you aren't given a choice for selling 1 ring instead of 2 if stacked. No big deal, IMO.

Thanks for the good work Qwinn!

It is intentional that a merchant will offer you less for an item he already has in stock than for an item he doesn't have any of. Which yes, does mean that, given a limited number of merchants to sell to, it can make sense to hoard your rings/bracelets/etc.

Is that the behavior you're trying to describe? Or rather, could it be the cause behind the effect you think you're seeing? Because I never had a merchant offer a price for a stack that wasn't a correct multiple of what a single item goes for. It sure could -seem- that way, though, if I was comparing a sell price of 1 when the merchant didn't have any to the sell price of a stack when a merchant -did- have some.

Oh, and you're right that you can't split a stack once you're in a store screen, but you can split the stack outside of the store screen, in your normal inventory. Hold down the shift key, pick up a stack from your inventory and put it right back in in the same spot... you should get a popup box allowing you to split the stack. Holding down the shift key while playing with the stacked item is the key.

Thanks for the good work Qwinn!

Thank you kindly :)

I think that this is the behavior that I'm seeing. I have TNO talking to the merchant southeast of Kossah-Jai in the the marketplace. In inventory, I see 4 bracelets of the same nonmagical type: 2 stacked bracelet, 1 unstacked bracelet, 1 unstacked bracelet.

All during the same conversation:
1. 2 bracelets (sells for 120 cp), none in merchant inventory. Selected 2 stack of bracelets from TNO, click sell.
2. Merchant shows 1 bracelet selling for 90 cp. TNO's inventory shows 1 unstacked for 30 cp, and another 1 unstacked bracelet for 30 cp.
3. 1 bracelet (sells for 30 sp), merchant shows 1 in inventory. Selected 1 bracelet from TNO, click sell.
4. Merchant shows 1 bracelet selling for 90 cp. TNO's inventory shows 1 unstacked for 15 cp.

Does that seem like the right accounting and behavior? (I can believe it is correct, based on your statement above.) I guess the two accounting questions would be: Should the merchant show more than 1 bracelet if he has been sold 3? And, for successive sales, is it correct for him to offer less and less per additional? (Again, I can believe it's correct.)

Neat. Thanks! Had no idea that you could do that.

Also, for very minor glitch, I'm using the font change fix. Under Statistics Screen/Information button, "Party Experience" text is clipped off on the top and bottom of the lettering. It might be that using the font fix is causing that glitch. Pretty much as minor as it gets.

He only shows one for sale at a time, which is fine, as buying stacks is not supported. Showing a "3" there, and then highlighting and hitting "buy" only gets you 1, would likely cause far more complaints and confusion than the way it stands.

I do believe it is intentional.

Yeah, this is a result of the font change mod. Since the fonts are not the exact same size, you -may- indeed get some places where it doesn't properly fit in the alloted space. Nothing one can do about that, but the occasions this actually happens are pretty limited, so the tweak is still offered because some may consider it worth that small price to pay. (Personally, I play with the original font).
