Quick question, for everybody out there. I'm at the end of Jaheira's romance and I declined to sleep with her. I noticed that, for everybody that has Shadowkeeper, a variable appears that says JAHEIRANOOKIE=1, if you do sleep with her. What I'm asking is does whether you do or not does it have any impact on the romance in Throne of Bhaal or in any other part of the game for that matter?

Quick question about Jaheira Romance

It has no purpose in the stock game aside from determining which dialogue you get the morning after.

Really? I'm kinda surprised, knowing that it's a make or break issue in Aerie's romance. I'll take your word for it, but I have noticed on the Romance FAQ on gamefaqs it says not to. Know anything about it, or is it just BS?

It's not a big deal. She's been married, she's had nookie before. True, you'll be her first since her poor dead husband, but by that point she's got past her issues.
Aerie, on the other hand, is a virgin...she has hang ups.

I really need a macro for this.
Those of you in back who know the tune, sing along.

"Sleeping with Aerie causes her to break the romance" is both only partially true, and is a bug.
After sleeping with Aerie, only one dialogue option during her subsequent sequence of doubt causes AerieRomanceActive to be set to 2. It is the noncommittal option. The other "reasonable" options do not cause AerieRomanceActive to change.
The TOB romance logic terminates the Aerie romance if it has not reached 2 yet, which is a reasonable precaution.
However, there's no reason to believe that leaving AerieRomanceActive at 1 was a deliberate move meant to indicate that she remains "uncommitted" to the PC. Absolutely everywhere else in the game, PC decisions which cause the romance to end cause the RomanceActive variable to be set to 3.
So...
- If you pick the noncommittal option, you get AerieRomanceActive set to 2, so you can sleep with her and "get away with it."
- The resolution of the Haer'Dalis love triangle results in AerieRomanceActive being set to 2. So, again, you can sleep with her and "get away with it."
- Whether you believe sleeping with Aerie was meant to end the romance or not, the coding is clearly buggy, and it is easier to believe that they forgot to set AerieRomanceActive to 2 in all of the "reasonable" replies than to believe that they forgot to set AerieRomanceActive to 3.
