Greetings,

I am about to spend a couple days between trains, planes and other transports so I decided to give Planescape Torment another go while I am at it on my laptop. I have recently found this place with all this excellent work for BG and PT and I was having a couple initial doubts on the procedure to install all this.

I have the 4Disc version of Planescape Torment, I understand the following order has to be followed?:

- Full game install, preferably on non-default location given Windows Vista problems at times with /Program Files x86/ folder

- The linked 1.1 Patch

- Fixpack

- Unfinised Business

- Tweaks pack

- Widescreen patch?

Furthermore, I saw the Widescreen Patch being mentioned... any clue where can I find it located at?

Finally, I saw some contents on the Tweaks pack I would prefer not to use. Are the tweaks pack components being able to pick which to use and which not during installation perhaps?

Thanks in advance

Your install order looks good. If you can spare the hard drive space, I might also recommend copying the contents of your CDs 1 through 4 to your hard drive (in directories like ".../Black Isle/Torment/CD2"), and then modifying the Torment.ini file to point to those new paths. Might also want to pick up a CD crack just so you can save wear and tear on the CD's, they'd be pretty hard to replace. With both the install-to-hard-drive method just described and the CD crack, you can put all of the CDs away in a safe place when you're done installing. Find one here:

Finally, if you have any performance issues at all, I'd recommend playing with the "CacheSize" parameter in the Torment.ini. Try values of 1, 1000, 32000.

It's a full mod, not a patch. Find it over at the Gibberling 3 website. Here's the forum:

Yes, it's configurable during install. I certainly wouldn't recommend installing all components. Here's a thread where I'm asked which I would recommend for a new player. The only thing I'd change is, for now, don't install the Explore All Areas mod, for reasons also given in that thread.
