baldur's gate 2 game crashing...(new problem)

Hi well me and my brother have both just gotten out of the underdark(he's defeated bodhi and I have not) and when ever we try to go to the North forest our games crash and we're not sure why. I've searched all the forums and google and have found very little on the issue so I am wondering if someone can help us ^_^

please for the love of bhaal or helm if you perfer help us

Ok For the past few weeks I've been playing a new game that is rather heavely modded. I've recently just exited the underdark and am trying to go to Small Teeth Pass but the game keeps crashing. I'm playing with Tsujatha for the first time and I really do not wanna have to start over....

The Imp pets the hair as if it was a little kittens, and says: Totally wrong order.
Besides this, you also need the G3BG2Fixpacks core fixes component to install the worldmap mod the right way. I am not sure you can solve this problem without a reinstall and replay. <_<

Well, the other problem is that area files you've visisted and other things are stored in your saved game, so even if you were to apply some sort of fix for the areas, it wouldn't apply to the saved games. You might be able to hack around your saved game with an advanced editor (Near Infinity or DLTCEP) to remove the affected areas and then install such a fix, but it's possible it might hose your saved game too (though you can of course, back it up). Being as how your game like it's already hosed and you just want to get to the end, it might be worth a try.

Since they can't visit the areas, they shouldn't be in the savegame. :)
Try below or simply skip the North Forest and the other affected areas.

Paste this in a file called setup-fixpack_area.tp2, rename a WeiDU.exe to setup-fixpack_area.exe, put both in your game directory and install it.

ok...I'm pretty sure I understand, and no the areas aren't in our saved games so it should work.

The area fixes above are from fixpack and should have fixed your problem.

Just pray that the complete fixpack install didn't break anything and try to finish your game.

I tried, but just imported my charrie into TOB

I'm gonna try and use my back up game but it didn't seem to fix it

No...I just got completely confused, then my comp started this virus scan which slowed my computer so I forgot what I was doing.

Besides that I was just plum confused with what I was supposed to do according to Taimon. Specifically with the Weidu.exe

Well, first of all, turn off any virus scanners (and disconnect from the internet) when you're running the game. No reason for it, and it'll just slow you down.

Paste this in a file called setup-fixpack_area.tp2, rename a WeiDU.exe to setup-fixpack_area.exe, put both in your game directory and install it.

Sounds pretty straightforward to me. Copy what Taimon posted, paste it in Notepad (or another text editor), save as setup-fixpack_area.tp2. Then copy any mod .exe in your game folder (or WeiDU.exe), paste it to a new .exe and rename it setup-fixpack_area.exe. Then double-click on that file to install the fix.

It looks like she already installed the BG2 Fixpack and is playing ToB now.
The fix will do no good if installed after the Fixpack.

Well it sounded from post #13 like she was still having problems, not sure where though.
