Well then I'll just uninstall the fix pack, unless you have any other suggestions

and use the fix, cause now I'm a 100% sure what you two meant.l.

Sorry to bump this thread but I'm having the same problem and this seems to be the only solution available. I tried what Taimon suggested but it didn't work for me. I got the message:

"<Setup.Ascension.exe> Queried <pid = 156> version = 21100 query done
<SETUP-FIXPACK-AREA.EXE.DEBUG> Queried <pid = -1>"

Delete Setup-Ascension.exe, download the latest WeiDU.exe which is v213 (or copy it from another mod - it should be ~600kb) and rename it Setup-Ascension.exe then try it again. There was a glitch with earlier WeiDU versions auto-updating.

Hmm, you need to remove the .DEBUG end from the SETUP-FIXPACK-AREA.EXE file, so it can actually be ran.

In case the BG2 game crashes, open up the 'baldur.ini' in your game folder, and under the [Program Options] section in the file, make a new line and type in 'Logging On=1' (without the '' quotes, unless the line is already there)... Save the file and exit. Now go back into the game and try to reproduce the crash. Then look in your game folder again for the Baldur.err file and open it with the Notepad to analyze its contents, or let us do it.

I tried that but it then displayed the same message but with the bg2fixpack added. Then after I repeated what you said (but this time for the fixpack), it added the bg2 tweakpack. Then it simply displayed the original as if I had done nothing.

There's no debug part at the end. After running the exe however a debug file gets created. Deleting that get me nowhere. Neither does leaving it.

Are you sure your file extensions are exposed? To finally fix the issue, just delete all the setup-*modname*.exe's, re export the WeiDU.exe v213 from the archive(the Windows Binary from here), and rename it as the setup-fix-area.exe, and run it. Hmm, why is the Setup.Ascension.exe in that format, and not in Setup-Ascension.exe?

That didn't work either. It just queried the setup-fixpack_area.

Just delete Setup.Ascension.exe - its name isn't in the right format anyway, as Jarno said.

Make sure your files are setup-fixpack_area.tp2 and setup-fixpack_area.exe and that the latter was copied from a WeiDU v213 *not* v211. The names should match exactly too. Post the exact message here if it hangs again.

This suggests you named your files wrong. Instead of setup-fixpack area.exe.exe or setup-fixpack_area.exe.tp2, they need to be named as I indicated. So delete the 2nd .exe extension, delete the DEBUG for it and try again.

Your setup-fixpack_area.tp2 is not correct, as it fails on the 6th line, for some reason yours doesn't have the //'s in it, as that mark quotes out the line 6, open the file with Notepad, and replace the code with the code from the previous page, this:

Hello!

I know this is an old thread, but I bump it anyways. I've tried everything said here, but I can't get it to work anyways.

Error message:

** ERROR ** [SETUP-FIX-AREA.TP2] not found.

Blablabla.

I've tried removing the .TP2, making a new one and so on.

What should I do? I just want to finish this game.........

Make sure you have the extensions up, remove the previous attempt files from the game directory... start a program called Notepad, then copy the code from my last post... to the Notepads file, then use the File -> Save As... replace the "*.txt" with "setup-fixpack_area.tp2", both without the quote marks... go to the directory you saved the file in and copy the file to the BG2 game folder, then copy one of the other setup-*modname*.exe's and rename that as the setup-fixpack_area.exe, and then run that .exe ...

Thanks! That worked.

I can now enter the Small Teeth Pass, but I can't enter the Underdark Exit area? The same problem happens when I try to enter that one now, lol.

I have to go there to speak to the elf leader after defeating Bodhi, right?

How do I fix it?
