I'm making items for BG1, and want to use the BAMS for the inventory and item description (the ixxxx.bam and cxxxx.bam files) from some ToB items. So I have copied the BAMs into the override and made the files as normal.
The items can be CLUA'd in normally, though when I go to open the inventory the game crashes.
I know it is a BAM problem as when I use BAM files that are already in BG1 it all works fine.
Any thoughts? I can send the item files out if people wish.

With animated frames and area's the files in BGII have a higher compression ratio but I'm not so sure if this applies to the icons as well.
Try compressing themm with BAMworkshop of NI and see if it works.

Hmm, turns out I didn't have BAMWorkshop so I downloaded it but it crashes- I'll try NI instead!

I found a decompress button, though that still causes the BAMs to crash BG1- so I've emailed them to you, though will keep having a go myself.

Argh, part of the reason it wasn't working was me. When I decompressed the files I left them on my desktop, not Override, so the game was still using the compressed originals. Slapping them in override fixed it.
