I always wanted to do, Alaja's profile. Here's the first part. her ocher-colored hair. So, what do you think?

But er,..


It's a neat texture, but I really would prefer to see something more before commenting.
For one, how are you planning to use that texture? O-o
If you just cut a piece of it and paste it as the hair of a drawing, I'll bet it won't look all that pretty. :/

Riiight... While I color the portrait, how I can delete all these pencil lines around the ear?

Select the lineart layer and paint over with white. And do it carefully. .p

Ok! Finished! My hand hurts... Thank you, that I started it yesterday...

Worked with four layers: Hair, skin, eye and lips. But I think the picture needs something else...

Well, the eyebrow is on top of the hair, as is the eye. Ouch, that's gotta hurt, hair under your eye...

And, umm, it's be enough to have an image half that size, it's gigantic.

And, umm, the skin color is a bit thin, the background white leaks through here and there.


But other than that, it's progress, goodie. :]

uhm, the problem with hair in the first pic you've posted is that they should go in the same direction, but you've painted some almost horizontal or in a hook-like shape. did you paint it with a tablet or a mouse?
Do you mind if I use your own pic as an example? ;-)



The second thing I could suggest you is that the hair in your pic has too many reflections. Reflections usually are only in some particular areas. Example of what I mean:



Finding the right areas where to add reflections is quite easy, simply take a picture of someone with hair in a sunny day

@Ep - It's is Paint bucket + dodge + burn. What's all. Oh, and my parents will soon buy me a tablet... Can't wait...

Can it be true? You have quit using dodge and burn! Ooo! Congratulations! At least it looks like you would have, so congrats anyway.

Possibly... You're right... burn didn't give the right tones. Thanks! I think, I do iy, in normal layer style, 'cause, when in multiply, you can see all pencil under sketches.

Colour is looking good, very nice progress there, can't wait until it is all done!
