I have made a full install of Baldur's Gate 2+ToB and patched them. Then I've installed Ascension, Tactics and Valen. Now, when I try to install BG2 Tweaks by gibberlings3, I get two regular prompts asking me for administrator password. Then I get a Windows NT-style prompt asking me for username and password, and when I type it in I get the message: "Windows cannot find the file [yada yada] BG2_Tweaks-v6.exe"

Running Vista 32-bit.

Anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks.

My name has nothing to do with personal stalking, it is derived from the Tarkovsky movie.

Vista

Turn the User Account Control off.

I would suggest also moving or install the game to "C:\BGII - SoA" folder, and remove the read-only flag from the folder (only one time is needed), and then if you moved already started game go edit the baldur.ini so the

[Alias]
yada yada yada

Read as:
[Alias]
HD0:=C:\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\BGII - SoA\CD1\
CD2:=C:\BGII - SoA\CD2\;C:\BGII - SoA\CD2\
CD3:=C:\BGII - SoA\CD3\
CD4:=C:\BGII - SoA\CD4\
CD5:=C:\BGII - SoA\CD5\
and save it.

This will remove most if not all your Vista problems.

I have no problem with UAC, and try over at G3, please. If there is a mod error, there is more useful than here.

Sorry, should have thought of using their forum instead.

I have never had Vista problems before with Baldur's Gate 2, but are there Vista-related problems when using mods? I mean, even if I get this working should I do what Jarno Mikkola says anyway to prevent any other eventual problem?

Guess- Yes. You can mod the game if you have the User Account Control on... or actually the windows make you go through a whole lot of hassle just to install one mod.

And even without mods, if you don't turn the Read-only flag off, it makes it impossible to modify the baldur.ini, which you might need to solve few bugs with variables with the CLUAConsole. (see Jaheira romance)
And as the program files -folder has the irremovable Read-only flag and image file creation problem, you can already see why I recommended my solutions. :P
By the way, it doesn't matter on which drive the game is, as long as it's not in the "program files" sub-folder.
