I have had nothing but frustration with NTotSC. My usual order of actions:

1-Talk to Shaell. In one conversation she tells me about the book.

2-Wenric, Yness, and Magnad send you to Field of the dead where I release Reedrig.

3-Complete Durlag's Tower and talk Reedrig. Get info about Cult of the Black Hand (Draagis) .

4-Take care of the Cult of the Black Hand (Draagis).

5-Get the Quest from Duke Elton. Complete it including salamanders and get the Holy Sysmol of Helm.

At this point, if I talk to Haeball, he attacks me. If I talk to the guy by the Sorcerous Sundries, he ignores me. No one tells me about the person in the Low Lantern and to go talk to him. No one tells me about the area south of the cloud peak mountains. The area with the forest elves does not appear on the map.

Plan B. Goto Candlekeep. Then try #5 again. Same results.

Anyone know of a good walkthrough? How about the order in which things are supposed to happen?

Using BGT 106a and NTotSC (for BGT) v160awith patch v162a.

At this point, if I talk to Haeball, he attacks me. This is normal at this point of the mod since you killed the Cult of the Black Hand off. If I talk to the guy by the Sorcerous Sundries, he ignores me. No one tells me about the person in the Low Lantern and to go talk to him. Check the walkthrough. I don't remember offhand, but someone guides you to him. No one tells me about the area south of the cloud peak mountains. The area with the forest elves does not appear on the map.

If you look in your NTotSC folder you'll find the walkthrough in document form as part of the installation package.
