I'm getting just a little p!ss3d off with seeing this error in various games - more so in NWN2 because in theory you can control the screen properties from the nwn2.ini file. Currently the file is set to the following:

[Display Options]
FullScreen=1
UseLargeFont=0
ShowSTRREF=0
TexturePack=0
Width=1024
Height=768
BitsPerPixels=32
RefreshRate=60

In theory all perfect for this monitor... but no. Its native resolution is 1680x1050; I've tried:-

Setting the screen res to 1074x768
Setting the Display Options to all possible combinations of BitPerPixels (16, 24, 32), FullScreen (0,1), Width (1024, 1680), Height (768, 1050).
RefreshRate is 60Hz, no possibility to change it.

Anyone any ideas? Or do I just use the screen to demonstrate how to take a shortcut through the nearest closed window?

Problem solved. The nwn2.ini file in the main game folder is as quoted and is the one I was looking at; the installation copies the default files to the \my documents\nwn2 folder and modifies them. Unfortunately it saw fit to set the Height and Width parameters to 1200x900 which is definately Out Of Range for this monitor.
