quest for the eye of a god

when i get close to some gaseous form it casts imprisonment (i think) on everyone, however due to some changes i made regarding the usually ensuing game over the sequence never stops...
at least i assume i am supposed to die there. either way, when i cast immunity:abjuration for example he just stands there and nothing happens at all. so whats supposed to happen there?
do i have to bring some sort of wardsone or something?

ok...i stumbled upon some divine guardian, i guess i ll have to heed his warning...

its really annoying though that it cant be tricked by immunity:abjuration

either way, followed his lead, collected all the stones, but upon doing so they were taken away from me and monsters spawned. now the only thing that the guardian is telling me where the 4 scrolls are...but i have taken them already...


by recreating all the four tablets (or maybe one of them would have sufficed) and setting the tabone global thus reconjuring the guardian lich the divine guardian got kinda fixed...
at least sufficiently as to being able to proceed now.

btw, that last fight was awesome! although now i feel that if i can beat that, demogorgon will be a walkover...

divine guardian is on the south western corner of that map.

btw, the riddle in the second or third floor was also kinda bugged...missing dialogue strings or something

i m really glad for that guy that gave me the near infinity advice, you can indeed almost look up anything.

There's an error in the script.
two solutions :
Else you don't kill the Garaxx sword's
or, when the problem happens, just edit the console and type : CluaConsole:SetGlobal("CreateThree","RA5004",2)

ilot, are you playing with G3fixpack installed so I can make sure your files are consistent with mine if I do come up with a fix?


EDIT: Since you are testing the area, can I have the area number please? There might be something there as his scripts look OK for all 5 of him. :lol:

EDIT2: OK I got the area and he needs to be at less than 10 hitpoints. Remember the unkillable Zannaster? Sort of the same thing going on if I remember.

EDIT 1,671: See if this global is setting GetGlobal("Polymorphs","RA5004") and it needs to be a value of 4 for the final transformation cutscene. So that global needs to be the right value and his hitpoints at less than 10.

To see what the value of a global is set to at a certain stage, use CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("Polymorphs","RA5004") and it will give you the value. My guess is when he doesn't progress from Demi-lich form, the global is still 3.

That is all in the Area script and everything looks correct. It seems it is just hanging on the block that sets to 4. Continue() to the rescue? :unsure:

During my battle against Garrax-Demi-lich I've used: CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("Polymorphs","RA5004")
and this is come out: Global POLYMORPHS RA5004 set to 4

I used also Ctrl+y but is impossible defeat "Garrax-demi-lich" Posted Image

This is the same type of thing with Zannaster that people had problems with.

Let us see if we can get it to fire using our Zannaster bug approach.

I'm not if it's usefull for you but I've noticed that "Garrax Demi Lich" gets:
1. DEMILICH.ITM (No such index) - Ring of Free Action: 'Edventar's Gift'

Well ignore the change I suggested then as it seems that you are not getting him to under 10 hitpoints to begin with. Use whatever weapons and tactics you would for Kangaax.

EDIT: The other forms of him are not demi-lich so he is like an improved Kangaax. He will die (change) when the cutscene happens because the MINHP1 item makes sure he always has 1 hitpoint. That is why ctrl+y cheat is no good and he has to be under 10 hitpoints and the global value we monitored is set to 4.

His other items are for resistances so you have to take into account that the items are not dispelled nor are the protections with the items. This is the hardest quest in the mod and probably out of any mod besides Improved Anvil.

Im not sure if this is important or not, but with garrax and zannaster both, if I use weapons which do damage over a period of time ( you know, like 5 points of poison damage every round for 10 rounds) they wont change to their next form and will become unkillable.
this doesnt happen with kagnaxx, and he transforms from lich to demi-lich form and dies normally.

Nice post psychlopes! That really sheds some light on these kinds of bugs and using the MINHP1.ITM although I do not know of any alternatives at the moment. :(

Wait...were you able to get things to work? He probably has a ton of hitpoints and it always takes a lot of hits for demi-liches. Please confirm so that if I need to make some changes, I can log this to be fixed.

I was not be able to kill Lord Garrax/Demi-Lich in "regular way" for now, but I used a cheat for kill him!!! I used CTRL+Q (he join my party), then I used Shadow Keeper and I modified his HP (I set at 9) and then kick off Lord Garrax/Demi-Lich from my party. There was a cutscene and then he changed his form in a Dragon, then I beat the Dragon (CTRL+Y)!!!!! Posted Image Posted Image
