just one quick question: still no ascension

Ascension comes within the BP, so it's in there.

Can you confirm about that? It would be sweet

Last time I came to check mods it was written somewhere that ascension would cause certain conflicts and erebusant was working on a fixed/improved version

Also, the ascension that comes with BP is a full version of the mod right? Has there been any big changes or additions in ascension since the days of BP?

And lasty.. been a while that I don't try BP, does it need to install all AI and yada yada stuff just to get ascension, or is there an ascension component stand-alone option in BP?

Sorry for all the questions, little me simply wanna be sure on all of this :)

I'm a little lost with the guide.

Some of the text is grayed/ethereal, are those phased out mods?

Why does it say NeJ is incompatible with BG2 Fixpack but later says that BGT makes corrections with the mods? Does that mean that NeJ will be compatible with BG2 Fixpack after BGT is installed?

Greyed out mods are mods that are part of the expert version. That means that if you do install them that is the place that they go, but if you do a standard BiG World install with the auto-installer they will not be included. Most expert mods can be installed with no problems, but you should probably check here for why they are considered expert before installing them if you want to include them.

I'm not too sure on your second question, so I'll leave that to someone else.

Because it needs the Baldurdash Weidu v166's fixpack as it's standard fixpack. -And no.

So you can't follow the guide by installing BG2 Fixpack and WeiDU's v1.66 Fixpack after, it has to be just WeiDU and NeJ, not G3 beforehand?

1) Yes, you need to follow the guide...
2) No.

(It needs to be the BG2 Fixpack, then Baldurdash-WeiDU v1.66, JUST LIKE THE GUIDE SAYS... then Never Ending Journey v2v42b, BGTNeJ2 v1.0b and NEJ2v602...+other bg BG2 quest mods including the BGT+other mods...) It's all made by the expert version of the BWP's installer, in the needed order.

PS, could you ask questions, that you can then read "yes and no" answers of. :Poke:
So you can understand...

Hey, I've done the new BWP install and had no problems till now. I have Stone of Askavar installed (with BWP fixes), but when the mod is supposed to start in the Nashkel Pass with an ambush nothing happens (from the readme). The area is AR3800 where Shar-Teel is located.

Also there is a cave at 1625/3480 that causes a ctd when entering it.

I read the post of Taimon at the Com forum -taimon's error

Do I have to copy and paste all the folders into override and data like he did?

Also I have the newest version of Stone of Askavar - downloaded the "fixed version" last weekend.

Thanks,

Maximus

I'm bumping my question. My C drive is pretty full at the moment, and my BG2 folder is over 20 gigs. Once I'm done with the install, I can delete the mod folders, correct?

Which folders do I need to keep besides these:

cache
CD2
CD3
CD4
CD5
Characters
data
eReg
mpsave
multiplayer
music
override
portraits
save
script compiler
scripts
sounds
temp
tempsave
Nihilism makes me smile.

Well assuming you don't have a folder called English(or w/e language you installed with) then I think that is all you need, note that the English folder only appears if you installed with the 4 in 1 collection(and even then it might only be certain versions of the 4 in 1).

However you might want to try to save the backups from all the mod folders if you can because those will make fixing any bugs you encounter a bit easier. However they are not absolutely required to play.

Hello. I've just installed a BWP 5.6 game and started playing.
Everything is working fine so far but I would like to add a few changes, is this possible (due to the BIFFing and everything at the end of the install..)
What I have in mind is that I would like to add the bonus merchants to Copper Cornet (Don't think these are included in BWP?) aswell as changing the bag capacity to unlimited of all the holding bags etc.

Would this be possible or would I have to reinstall everything and then change around with the install parameters somehow?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings.
I'm experiencing some problems installing BGT v5.6. I followed the instructions in the guide, but still can't install SCSII_WM_fix. Here is the error message: http://img141.images.../messagecr7.jpg
Can anyone help with it?

Deleted in the first post under "Important NEWS" the following:
- BiG World Fixpack

Added in the first post under "Important NEWS" the following:
- Dark Side of the Sword Coast
- Northern Tales of the Sword Coast
- Secret of Bone Hill
- BP-BGT-Worldmap

dreamer2007: In the meantime while playing I encountered the first serious bug, a infamous CTD, I will post a new topic to describe it

That is everytime the best way to have the problems organized. :)

@ dragonian

Ok so i`m going to ask about ones that i`m not sure about. Which of them are likeley to cause CTDs when installed acording to expert install instructions.

04.06. Ascension v1.4.23 (isn`t it included in BP?): Yes it is included in BP, but is bugged. So you should use the normal Ascension version, but you could get CTDs. We wait for a revised Ascension version.
All other listed mods cause not really CTDs, but could... Here thanks to maximus2001 for gave us his descriptions on that. :)

@ abbatik

Prompt that it for file AR0904.BCS in folder BiG World Fixpack\override?
What it for a file and during what moment of installation should be copied it?
In BiG_World_v5.6_beta __ english.pdf and BiG World Install v5.6.bat about it to be spoken nothing.

It was our fault, sorry. The file must be placed in a _copy folder like \BiG World Fixpack\override\_copy. You find the description about this fix in the _BWP fixes.txt.

My second post for today. :)

@ enderandrew

When I'm done with my install, I can delete the mod files and folders.

Don't delete any of the modfolders and -files, because you need them for bugfixing. Without the modfiles we can't really help you, if you have a bug or CTD.

And again, are there mod folders I need to save for after I beat BG1 other than what is listed in the PDF:

You listed all mods, which you need after the BG1 transition.

@ Ronin

in the pdf it says to extract patch 162 for ntosc but in the install file it wants 163

Thanks for the note, but with the new NTotSC version it is outdated again. :)

also installing nsc portraits gets this error:

This is fixed with the new v1.4, now. You can get the new modversion of "BGT NPC Portraits" from our linklist.

why are you messing with the worldmap anyways?

The SCSIIWM fix is for the BP-BGT Worldmap v7.0a. Could it be that you use the new version v7.1 of the Worldmap? I think you don't need this fix at the moment, but we'll looking into it. Thanks for the report. :)

@ Guest - Dark

I cannot identify items in the shops e.g adventurer mart
Do anyone of you have the same problems

If you still have the problem, please open a new thread, describe the problem again and post your WeiDU.log.
