I did some browsing around on the forum to determine which version I wanted to grab, the 2CD or 4CD. This thread suggests the 2CD, but Qwinn mentioned here that he knew of a few people experiencing various errors with the 2CD version. And a post here (admittedly rather old) suggests that the 2 disc version is less than desirable for WeiDU.

So I'm thinking the 4 disc is the one to go with?

If it's relevant I've got Windows XP SP3. NVidia 7300 GS. AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+. 2 GHz.

I'm watching a 4 disc one on Ebay that ends in about 20 hours, so the quicker the answer the better. :)

Thanks in advance.

I've had no problems with the four disc version and Weidu.

Yeah, I think in some limited circumstances WeiDU has issues with the compression methods used in the 2CD version. The 4CD version carries the slight annoyance factor of requiring the download and application of the 1.1 patch, but seems to create less issues with WeiDU finding certain .BIF files during installs. That's not to say you can't have a perfectly problem free 2CD install... but what rare issues I've had reported regarding that have been fairly consistently with the 2CD version. On the other hand, you've got better chances of one out of four disks eventually going bad and unreadable than one in two disks. So its a judgment call.

Well, managed to buy a four disc off ebay.

Then again, later the same day they've got a buy it now for $20 cheaper. Only $32. If someone hasn't got it yet, now's the time...

Won't link though. Don't want to spam.

Anyways, thanks both of you. Greatly looking forward to getting to play this in a couple weeks. ^_^ I've heard only great things.

It's odd that PS:T is the only IE game that's holding its price. In some cases I've seen eBay shrinkwrap copies going for twice the original price and secondhand copies reaching the original price. OTOH I bargained my copy down to £15 in a local shop!
