Here?s hoping you can help me with a ten-year-old game. This is gonna be long.

I recently bought and installed the four-disk version of Torment on my laptop, which runs on Vista Home Basic (UAC disabled), and patched it with the official Trmt11 patch, Platter?s fix pack v1.37, and his follow up ?fixpack beta.? It ran beautifully until I tried to exit Ravel?s maze and move on to disk four; after the spoilerific spell battle, the next area loads up fully before the game closes itself.

The message I get has the title ?Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library? at the top of its window, and it says that ?This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information.? The ensuing Window Solutions window directs me to check out three files that don?t exist anywhere in my AppData folder (which itself only seems to exist under certain circumstances, but at least I found it).

Black Isle doesn?t actually exist anymore and Bioware?s official site doesn?t have any mention of PS:T, so that precludes them as sources of help. I would GREATLY appreciate any support the forum could give me; I?ve never played the game before, but I?m guessing the issue lies in a movie that plays when you get to wherever Ravel?s portal takes you. Thanks.
