I started playing Baldur's Gate after Big World Mega Mod, and in third area (Crossroads), since departuring from Candles Keep, I meet Eldoth the Bard. After joining with me he lost XP points. This is strange to me and I wan't to know is this supposed to happen, and why? After losing XP he was LVL 3 and my chars are all still LVL 1. Did this happen because he is much greater LVL than I am, and which LVL must I be to prevent the loss of his XP points?

This is a part of the "NPCs match player character's experience points" (or similar) component from the BG1NPC mod. If you take in a NPC with less experience than the main character the NPC gains some experience, if you take in a NPC with more exp he/she will lose some instead.
It happens only the first time you take them in anyway (so if you take in Eldoth, dump him, level up even 4 or 5 times and then take him in again, he won't gain any experience and won't match your new level).

Level1NPCs, yep - that component - and it will also work the other way, if you meet them at a higher level yourself! Any NPCs you changed will get this.
