You in luck, I can reproduce not getting the clips. In the Trash Warrens (so respawn in Marta's hut) out of 10 times I told Bish to piss off and had him kill me, I only heard Morte say something once. Party was made up of TNO, Dak, and Morte. I'll look into how it picks which audio clip to play, there could be a bug with random number gen.

Oh and I get the "climbing off slab" animation every time. So that's working perfectly.

Also, I can confirm that I always get audio clip to play from both Morte and Dak if I die in Martha's hut and respawn there. Maybe it's an issue with timing of playing it and loading screen? So it triggers the clip while the loading screen is active but for whatever reason doesn't play. Still, even in Marta's hut there is no issue with "climbing off slab" animation so dunno why it isn't working for you. But the sound issue I can confirm.

On 2nd floor of Mortuary in a new game, after having Morte kill me it always plays one of his clips after respawning. However, in this case I do not get the "off the slab" animation. Maybe this case is special? Qwinn, can you sum up places you have issues with audio + slab animation?

Hey, I'm late to the party, but here's my input. Hope it helps a little.

I always get these four from TNO in his tomb. I didn't even know they could be gotten elsewhere.

# NAM151B: "Aaagh. Worse than last time." -> After TNO resurrection. Engine.
# NAM152B: "Feels like I've been through a shredder." -> After TNO resurrection. Engine.
# NAM153: "Urf. Ugh. Feels like I've been strained through someone's bowels." -> After TNO resurrection. Engine.
# NAM154: "Oooh. Feel all stiff." -> After TNO resurrection. Engine.

I've heard Morte say all of these. I'm pretty sure it was only when Morte was the only party member AND TNO woke up in the mortuary.

# MRT397A: "Whoa, thought we lost you for good this time, chief." -> After TNO resurrection. Engine.
# MRT398B: "Looks like beauty sleep hasn't helped you any." -> After TNO resurrection. Engine.

That would be my guess, but others have reported no real problems getting them anywhere (other than occasionally getting what sounds like one of TNO's lines cut off, you only hear like a short cut-off grunt). Glad it wasn't just me tho.

Anyways, I -would- always hear the sounds anywhere I died that made you rez in the southwest corner of the Lower Ward, such as Clerk's Ward, Brocah and Micah's shop, or the Open Air Market. But, dying in the Foundry makes you rez in the northeast Lower Ward, just outside the foundry, and there I -wouldn't- get sound. Weird, huh?

I never was able to not get sounds when dying in the same zone that I would rez in. Always worked perfectly in those.

I also don't get sound on a new game where I run up to the third floor of the mortuary and die there.

I'm not so worried about the animation, though if there is a bug somewhere that is occasionally preventing that and you find it, cool, sure, fix it please. But it -would- be especially nice to get the after-rez sounds playing consistently, seeing as there's 35 of them.

As macabroid also asserted in another thread, there seems no link between the animation and sounds. Sometimes you'd get one, sometimes the other, sometimes both, sometimes neither.

Oh, and yes, I -think- I always always got the animation when rezzing in Marta's hut same as you, but not always in the Mortuary.
