Hi all,
Just about to change over from BG1 to BG2 using BGT.
Do the NPCs carry over their exp from BG1 to 2? What about spellbooks? items?
Is there still a way to carry over items from BG1 to BG2 like there was in the unmodded version?

XP and spell books, STATs etc. if they are in the party when you talk to Belt the last time.

Is there still a way to carry over items from BG1 to BG2 like there was in the unmodded version?

Well, yes with cheating, just put the items in to a bag of holding(bag02) drop it off and then recreate it or buy it in the new areas, or drop all the items to an specified area in bgt areas(use the X to detect area names), and travel there with CLUAConsole... and then travel back to BG2 with it.

So only up to 5 npcs will have their stats saved? I thought it was everyone who you picked up at any point.
If I leave behind characters in the inn, and they are not saved, will they be treated as Level 1 NPCs when I pick them up in BG2?
For example, I have Imoen, Ajantis, Minsc & Dynaheir, and Viconia. If I drop off Minsc & Dynaheir in favou of Edwin, and then talk to Belt, then Minsc will go back to being basic BG2, and I will be able to level him from level 1 again?

The CLUA travel idea is actually really good. Thank you for that! Will merchants in BG1 areas keep their wares during the transition to BG2? I sold a lot of my stuff at Ulgoth's Beard, and it might be neat to teleport back there to buy.

Exactly, as far as I know.

Probably, but you have got to remember that you'll loose a lot of gold during the transition, unless you buy the whole store and then store it somewhere...
Of course you could also recreate the seller with the Console in BG2 area.
