Isn't that possible? I would really like to play through Baldur's Gate again, but I don't want to use anything like Trilogy. Planescape has a mod like that, but is it much work to create one for BG1? If I can help, I will.

Your work on PST is awesome and so I thought: what the hell, you can always ask.

Widescreen Mod works for BG1, via stretching the UI.

If you were to use EasyTutu and TutuGUI, you would gain a similar sort of effect as this mod. For odd resolutions, you'd have to use Widescreen mod afterwards.

EDIT: Please, post it in ONE PLACE ONLY so you don't waste people's time! Cross posting is definitely frowned upon!

Thanks for the quick answer, but if I interpreted the screenshots correctly I saw black (empty) bars. That's not what I mean by stretching. What do I have to use to get the same effect as in Baldur's Gate 2. With that I mean a stretched out interface without black nothingness.

P.S. I 'crossposted' because I'd hoped one of the guys would be interested in this idea. I doubt The Bigg would've read this topic too. :)

Ok, to start, the black boxes you are complaining about isn't part of WSM. WSM doesn't actually cause them, but it is an error with the engine. Also, try reading this thread and hopefully your problems will be sorted.

Thanks again, but I don't think you understand me. Let me get you a screenshot:

This isn't my problem, but you can see the black nothingness right next to the dialogue bar. Ghostdog's mod fixes this brilliantly for Planescape, but is such a thing possible for Baldur's Gate too, without Trilogy (or Tutu)?

I'm not sure. I would suggest reinstalling Widescreen mod, and if that fails, Easytutu or BGT are better in all respects, save nostalgia.

Let me get this straight before I make my install: even the regular Widescreen mod doesn't create any black bars and everything stretches out properly? I thought Baldur's Gate made every small screen appear in the upper left too and created this black nothingness like that was the case in Planescape, before Ghostdog made his appearance.

I would try out Trilogy but I really hate one part: They create some new events to pass the bridge from BG2 to part two, fine. But they also change the non player characters and even make them look like BG1? That I don't like. Tutu seems rather dead on the other hand.

Usually, the regular widescreen mod does not create any black, certainly, it does not on my installation. What appears to my untrained, at least in this aspect, eyes is that one area of the GUI was not stretched properly, upon which a reinstall is fairly logical.

BGT changes some minimal things, and I am not sure what you mean by "Looking like BG1", do you mean portraits and so on? Or character models?

Tutu is just a clean BG1 conversion, and any needed BG1 aspects can be replaced with TutuGUI and 1PP.

I mean this:

Notice my elite Paint.net skillz.

With the other thing I mean this:

Additionally, joinable non-player characters that appear in both Baldur's Gate and Shadows of Amn conditionally keep their attributes upon transition to Shadows of Amn depending on the fate that you left them in Baldur's Gate. Edwin, Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc, and Viconia will keep their attributes and appearance from Baldur's Gate if they are alive and are in your party when you talk to Belt after the defeat of Sarevok. Otherwise, they will present themselves in Shadows of Amn as if BGT-WeiDU was not installed.

What would you advise by the way? Trilogy? Tutu?

That's caused by the widescreen mod.

Wow, really?! And I was asking if there was someone interested in fixing this. ;)

Finally we're on the same page now.

Anyway, I don't have any plans for making a mod for BG1. Your best bet for playing it in widescreen is to use easyTUTU + Widescreen mod.
