I installed a number of mods and tweaks on a clean install of BG2 and ToB. When one Mod required the patch, I had to go get that (forgot). All were weidu mods.
Well, I seem to have some item data. I think the items still work, but I have no way to tell what they are except by the icon. All description and even the item name has been removed. But it's not all items, just a handful of them.
Mods installed:
Shadows over Soubar
Big Picture
Big Picture Map
Ascension
Redemption
Tactics
Improved Anvil (but NOT The Four)
Yoshimo friendship
Mazzy Friendship
Banter Pack
Sarileth NPC
Yikari NPC (I don't want to play a Monk, but I want to have one around)
Gibberlings 3 BG2 Fixpack
Gibberlings 3 BG2 Tweakpack (mostly for multiple strongholds... I didn't put in almost anything else).
Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a fix for it?

First when in the order the patch or are you talking about the Fixpack? The fix is easy, start over with a fresh clean patched install and then install mods in this order:
Ascension
Gibberlings 3 BG2 Fixpack
Shadows over Soubar
Yoshimo friendship
Mazzy Friendship
Banter Pack
Sarileth NPC
Yikari NPC (I don't want to play a Monk, but I want to have one around)
Big Picture
Tactics (only the approved parts that arn't already in BP)
Redemption
Gibberlings 3 BG2 Tweakpack (mostly for multiple strongholds... I didn't put in almost anything else).
for an even better install order and more info read BWP
Do not install any of 'Improved Anvil' with any of the mods you list!
