this may be a stupid question but i was just wondering... does the additional critical hit chance provided by the improved short sword of backstabing only apply to hits with it or too weapons dual wielded as well? For example, if i wielded the ssob in the off hand and venduris' sword in the main hand, would venduris' sword gain an improved critical hit chance?

Yes, the critical hit bonus applies to both weapons.
