Hi! Thanks for the great work on the mod but I have a question!

Whenever I play at 1440x900, everything displays normally. I wanted to try 1280x800 though for your mod, and it always gives me this:

I had to edit the pic a bit to show you exactly what happens. When I take a screenshot it displays the whole thing, but on my monitor the bottom bit is cut off!

Any help would be appreciated!

If the screenshot is good but your monitor displays bad, then the problem is with the monitor... does the top align perfectly? Can!t it be that the whole screen is shifted downwards a bit?

Have you tried using the 1280x800 resolution in other games? It seems like the problem is with your monitor. Is the monitor connected with a DVI or a DSUB cable ? If you're using a DSUB, there should be some settings in the monitor menu for screen positioning.

Thanks for the reply. It's definitely a monitor issue. I have no idea why it would display like that though. Auto-Adjust doesn't work either. I've tried other games and they all give me that problem now. Everything runs fine at 1440x900 however

Well I just found out it's reverting to 1280x768 even though my settings SAY its at 1280x800. I know this is kind of out of planescape modding realm but if anyone could help that would be great

My UI supports the 1280x768 resolution. Uninstall the current installation of my UI and the widescreen mod and then re-install them with the 1280x768 resolution.

As for your monitor problems, it sounds to me like you have connected the card to the monitor through a DSUB (VGA) connection. If your card and monitor support it , i'd suggest to use a DVI connection, it may solve your problems. If not, then your monitor is most likely faulty.

My monitor is 1 16:10/8:5 aspect ratio though, so 1280x768 looks really blurred. I do have a VGA monitor, through an adapter into a DVI plug in my PC.

As Ghostdog says, you most likely need a digital (DVI) connection to display 1280x800. Some monitors like mine do not support it on analog (VGA), even if you add it as a custom resolution, instead it displays as 1280x768. I'm not sure if an adapter would work either - ideally you want DVI to DVI.

Open up your graphics card control panel. On a DVI connection, you need to select Display Adapter Scaling. I have a nVidia graphics card, where you can find it under nView Display Settings > Device Settings button > Device Adjustments > select Display Adapter Scaling > OK > OK. You may also need to go to the Screen Resolutions tab and add 1280x800x60Hz as a custom resolution. (I'm not sure where these settings are with an ATI graphics card but it should be similar)

What this means is that your monitor will ALWAYS run at its native resolution (1440x900). When a game wants a lower resolution, even 640x480, your graphics card will scale up the image instead of your monitor scaling it. Therefore your monitor is always happy and does not have to change modes for any resolution. (In my experience you also get a better, more uniformly scaled picture)

By the way, for games that are in 4:3 aspect, you can also choose Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling, if you do not want the game stretched to widescreen (it adds black bars on the sides)

Cheers :)
