Mistakes. An Alistair story. What if Maric decided to acknowledge his son?

Blue Skies, Fresh Air, Freedom, and Darkspawn - mage origin, more or less canon. Other works by the same author also seem to be very popular.

Marcus Amell stories - another mage origin, male this time. Some very moving one-shots; I recommend Fallen Companion in particular.

A Fereldan Carol - a very fitting Dickens-y Christmas Loghain story. There's no such thing as a Christmas Loghain, obviously.

Finally got my hands on "The Stolen Throne" by David Gaider(obviously can't put a link here, um, sorry for that), and I can defnintely recommend it - surprisingly, it's on par or even better than most of Loghain fanfiction. Maric is not as annoying as Alistair, either.

(Before that, I only read the first chapter of the "Calling", and it was pretty boring; "The Calling"'s Duncan was rather bland, so, no, can't recommend it, at least not yet. But "The Stolen Throne" is good so far).

Love and Levirate and others by the same author. Anora and Alistair. Pretty good.

Death and the Maiden - Landsmeet+Denerim period, female Tabris, Loghain, and all that comes with it. A bit moralizing, but good writing, all in all.

So! Now when Dragon Age 2 is back, I've read nearly all Hawke stories to date (and all Anders stories, obviously), and here're some good ones:

About Sir Pounce-a-Lot, from Crisium's Livejournal: Tiny Irreversible Snags
(These three are all about Anders. Sorry! Had I found a good Fenris or Varric story, it'd be right here).
Some Assembly Required, prompt 32(or "What Happened To Anders' Phylactory")
Pebbles from the Sky, by Crisium
Happier

Corruption, Orsino's musings

The Stubbornness of Fools - Anders(again).
In Circles Unbroken, Part 1, Part 2 , Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6 - DA2 Cullen.

Heeding, Bethany in the Deep Roads.
Like Watching a Shipwreck - a party of mages, blood mages and abominations in the Gallows. Right in front of Knight-Captain Cullen.

And more Anders and Sebastian:
Atonement
My Sweet Girl

Anders and female Hawke post-DA2:
Sex and Other Vices
Waiting (with both Hawke and the Warden)

Loghain-Cousland stories:

The Hourglass - another Loghain and Cousland story(Warden Cousland).
A Matter of Convenience - same here(an arranged marriage, pre-Blight).
The Edge Of The Grey Enigma.

Some more Anders and Hawke:
Reprieve - a day without Justice
Pieced Together

Another nice Anders story(Anders and a female Templar, how much weird-er can it get?): Escape.

Rogue!Hawke and Anders on the run. Hawke is male, just so you know.

Origins AU: City Elf as a regular Warden, and Dalish Elf, Theron Mahariel, as a semi-silent watcher: Survivors.

And an Anders-Hawke popular multiparter: Icarus.

EDIT: Another Anders-Hawke, post-DA2, Anders-without-Justice-and-his memories-of-the-past-10-years:
Guide Me Home

(I met a few other mildly interesting fics, but I never even finished reading those, so never mind).

EDIT: Anders-Hawke, set in the future, templars won. Recommended. Remember, Remember

Not a bad multiparter about Prince Cousland and Anora: Best Made Plans

I don't usually bother with fanfic, but this one was really funny. Thanks, Kulyok.

Worth Fighting For - female Amell, Fergus and some Zevran. I guess I like these post-Alistair-breakup fanfics. :)

"A Southern Californian..." which I mentioned here previously(or did I?) has a sequel, Post Blight Management For Dummies. Pretty neat, too.

Observations - a collection of one-shots about various Origins/Awakening characters. Post-Awakening, mostly.

Precognition - Hawke goes back in time to save Anders from becoming, well, Anders. (Features Amaranthine-non-Warden-Anders).

Twisted - Hawke/Cullen, Hawke is unwillingly working for the Chantry(and Cullen!) with her brother Carver. Other one-shots by this author are worth exploring, too, especially "Compromise".

Reading some Fenris-Hawke stories(good ones), and here's the first one: Raven. Curiously, written by a Russian author, too, the one who authored Virga, based on Kivan Romance, a few years back.

White Wolf - another Fenris-Hawke. Warning: definitely an M rating; Fenris is abused and tortured rather graphically.

Towards Better Things - AU, Hawke in Tevinter. Very interesting, actually, though you might want to skip the first few chapters, until Hawke actually meets Fenris.

Love Lies Brooding - present tense, regular viewpoint switching, but, contrary to the title, no Elton John lyrics and first chapters, at least, are readable and angsty. Well, all Henris is angsty. A bit too much porn for my taste, though. And dissolves in fluff and happy bliss after the first few chapters. In other words, um, read only if you're a Fenris completist.

A lovely and a somewhat funny story about a male Amell Warden and his dog, Blossom: Mabari & Magus.
