Euhm... a bit the wrong forum in a way, but I can not log in anymore like ever.
I assume the forum has been tested with the latest ie. I have deleted all my old cookies. Still no avail. I can not even open the page to sign in.
Does anyone else have this problem? Or has my membership been canceled? :P

What browser do you use? If it's IE6, you won't be able to login because the software doesn't support it.

It might also require javascript turned on, or at least that's what it looks like anyway, since it's a sliding panel that's not visible until you enable it. Not sure who thought that'd be a cool feature (maybe it detracts spammers, if so then I'm willing to tolerate it :D).

While I'm here, don't suppose we could get a "Merge" option for PMs (or PCs or whatever they are now) or even an "Automerge" function that puts all PMs with the same name into one thread? Would be useful particularly for the older messages.

Yeah, that'd be a no, sorry. :( The software doesn't support something like that, but hopefully it might in the future.

As for who thought the slide-down login would be useful, I did. I prefer the least amount of page-changes possible, for various reasons.

I thought that problem only existed if you had IE 6.xx, but I tested it myself with IE 8 and the error is there, which is quite odd. You can however log in using IE 8 by doing it through this link.

I use IE8, and the link that Archmage Silver so kindly suggested works fine for logging in.

The signing in every time has nothing to do with the slide-down bar; people have been having this issue for years, so that's not a new one with this version. I assume you've tried the whole deleting-cache/info and trying it again?

As for attachment limit, that's something I can fix, it'll just take a bit of time.

It would be great if someone could take the time to go through and write a concise list of the issues people have encountered--I'm working on fixing things, but I know I'm missing some stuff. From your perspective it'd be great to see "what needs to be fixed or changed".

It works fine on my cellphone, which uses opera if that helps in regards to the signing in.(it may be due to the recent upgrade for firefox) The only other thing I noticed was the birthdays are no longer showing up.

Java script is on, I believe I have the latest IE at home, but due to it being vista on my new system (Windows 7 is shipped, but hasn't arrived yet) it may be that I haven't unblocked stuff, because he asks for the most basic things to be runned like an autoupdate of windows itself... horribly annoying.

Where's the link to the online store? Also, (and this is my biggest concern with the new update) when adding features (ordered lists, unordered lists, smiles, hyperlinks, and just about everything else) to the "new post" input box, those features are added to the input box, not just there code. They should ONLY appear in the "preview post", not where you are actually adding the content of the post. It makes it damn near impossible to work with. Here is an example of one of the worse cases: you can highlight words using:
[background=yellow]Yellow background behind this text[/yellow]
but when you select to preview the post, the words are highlighted in the preview box, but the code disappears from the input box, so if you then hit "Add Reply", the highlight is not added to the post.

You end up with -> Yellow background behind this text <- instead of -> Yellow background behind this text <-

If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"

Site is pretty broken in IE7 (forced to use on some older uni computers) where you can't actually access messaging area. It looks like drop down bar with user name in top right corner doesn't load. Not sure if this was mentioned before.

But I tend to have quick (and twitchy) fingers and end up closing the wrong tabs >_< which is where FF's recently closed tabs thing is like the best thing in the world :woot:

You do know Opera has button (as well as hotkey) for this? The icon has changed a couple times but it's always had it even in v8/v9 (ie. long before FF).

Unfortunately our software doesn't work with IE very well. I've had reports people haven't been able to view their personal messages, log in, change their profile, and a couple of other things. The only solution I have is to switch browsers. I'm sorry I can't do more than that, but this isn't something I can fix.

To me, this sounds as if you're inadvertently using the RTE. Plese go to your control panel and see if the "Enable visual (RTE) editor?" checkbox is ticked under "Posting Settings." If so, untick it.

Works for me in IE. As a matter of fact, the only thing that doesn't work for me is the sliding login which is due to a bug in the Prototype javascript library.

Get Firefox, then install the Adblock Plus add-on, go to Tools->Adblock Plus Preferences. Then go to Filters->Add Filter, then paste:
http://www.shsforums.net/public/js/3rd_party/prettify/*
into the input box and hit ok.
