Hi there,

I've been playing CA 0.50a, and ran into a problem with areas greyed out on the World map, eg: Saltmarsh, the swamp and Piney Bluff. I worked around this using the CLUA MoveToArea command, after which the areas worked normally on the World  map. I still have a problem with new areas on the map being greyed out: the area where the Skulk's lair is marked by a NPC on my World map greyed out.

The bigger problem is that I've just installed CA 0.51, and had this problem after loading a save game: three of the characters in my party suddenly have different names, their bio's seem to be random strings of text, and my journal/quest log has some odd entries not at all like before 0.51 was installed. Icar is now "Gronk", Paraway is now "You're going to hell!" and Rurik's name is a whole sentence: "Don't get in front of me...Blast, now now". I'm totally not kidding...

I uninstalled CA 0.51, and BGII completely, and deleted everything in the BGII folder except for my savegames. I installed BGII, ToB, patched and then installed CA 0.50, updated to 0.50a (which is how I was playing CA before) but still have the wrong names/journal/BIO's. Any idea how I can fix this?

You have to exit from the right exit grid to get access to the area... so if the area in the Saltmarsh, and you wish to go to the Swamp as you have been requested to go to the swamp, you need to exit from the Right lower part of the Saltmarsh map, not from the North exit for example.

The bigger problem is that I've just installed CA 0.51, and had this problem after loading a save game: three of the characters in my party suddenly have different names, their bio's seem to be random strings of text, and my journal/quest log has some odd entries not at all like before 0.51 was installed. From that you need to learn a lesson, always use a clean original game directory, and a new game... not an old one. Yes, the CA is still in development, and as the resources are still half done, you can only play half of the game.

I uninstalled CA 0.51, and BGII completely, and deleted everything in the BGII folder except for my savegames. Use the exact same mod patter you installed the first play through, so if you installed the Rogue Rebalance between the CA 0.50 and CA 0.50a for example, you still need to use it in the same exact place.

All the Full versions require you to start new games. The Worldmaps are different and since these get saved into each saved game, you will not be able to use the updated map unless you start over.

String references get changed all the time between versions. As we add more "stuff", the text is not always add to the bottom of the dialog.dlk file. Therefore, string reference 72342 in one version (say maybe "Dirbert") will not be the same text in another version's install. The only text that is consistant will be the text in the dialog.tlk file before any mods are installed. So therefore text such as "Chain Mail", "Orc", etc.
