Spoilers, obviously.

I read this thread at Bioware.com forums this morning: http://social.biowar...s-598000-1.html

I was messing around with the toolset and I saw in a dialogue between your PC and Loghain - if you want to tell him about Morrigan's proposal) that you can tell him "We have become friends, haven't we?" (or something like that)

and his reply will depend on his approval status - in particular, he will say something specific if he is "Friendly".

I know you can reach +99 (or 100, I don't remember) approval by talking to him, giving him all "his" gifts and stuff, but his status remained "Warm" when I did even with maximum approval - I thought it was impossible to become "friends" so I was surprised to see that one could actually do that.

So, in short, it's possible to reach a "friendly" status with Loghain.

I'd like to do it, but so far no luck. Maybe someone else knows more?

I'd like to try the toolset, but I know about various bug reports for the first version. Is it safe to install the DA toolset now?

Well, you can cheat yourself to max status...

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Unfortunately, I don't see a cheat there which changes a companion's rating to "friendly", sadly. As for rating itself, I already had Loghain at 100, but he was still at "warm".

Could be an option, though, yes. I wonder if there's a "honest" way to do it, however.

Or that might be cut content, and not actually accessible ingame without a mod (do I hear UB for DA?).

I wonder if friendly is attained if you become engaged to Anora (that's one for my next playthrough - my first HN married her off to Alistair). I'll check it out and report back in a few weeks.

No idea, I've just checked his wiki entry, but only found his complete list of gifts.

And this complete list of gifts doesn't work, anyway: there's no Botanist's map of Thedas anywhere on PC game.
(But it's not necessary: you can get him to 100 only with three map gifts; the fourth is a bonus just to hear him say thank you).

Are you sure? I'm almost positive I saw that map on my playthrough.

Ah, here it is. Unless they've removed it at some point.

If it is there in the PC version (some items are only in the console version) then you'd need to be a rogue to pick it up, since you don't have a party once inside the Castle at that point.

It must have been something else I saw then, as I played a mage. But at least it's in the game according to the wiki.

Edit: Was the chest locked though? I can't remember.

It's not there, I tell you. There is another map in Castle Redcliffe, in guest room during the final battle(Morrigan's ritual), and, yes, it's locked, and yes, my rogue picked the lock and got it.

But the fifth map, Botanist's map, is not there in PC version.

That's odd. I guess it's just cut content then.
