I'm using BGT 1.08 with TOTSC and TOB and am trying to play Lure of the Sirine's call and Secret of Bone Hill. Both of them crash as the area is loading. Here is my Weidu.log - not sure if it'll be useful. Thanks for any help or ideas.

But see, the Ascension mod overwrites a lot of stuff, and it's recommended that you install the Big Pictures new improved Ascension component instead of the Ascension v1.41 . Should you also understand, it's recommended that you install the Tactical version of the BiG World Install ... and include the mods in the game folder before you start the BiG World Install.bat, it will skip the mods it can't install if there is no setup-*modname*.exe for them in the game folder. And then and only then you should restart the setup-*modname*.exe and install mod components that have not been installed at your own risk.

Besides that, you also need the BP-BGT-Worldmap mod.

In case the BG2 game crashes, open up the 'baldur.ini' in your game folder, and under the [Program Options] section in the file, make a new line and type in 'Logging On=1' (without the '' quotes, unless the line is already there)... Save the file and exit. Now go back into the game and try to reproduce the crash. Then look in your game folder again for the Baldur.err file and open it with the Notepad to analyze its contents, or let us do it.

Always post the contents of your baldur.err in the case of crashes. I seem to be repeating this like 5 times every time I log on here :P.

This should really be in Megamod Help rather than BGT, but if you *ever* get a crash and don't know exactly what's causing it, make sure you have 'Logging On=1' under [Program Options] in you baldur.ini file, reproduce the crash and post the contents of your baldur.err file (open it in a text editor like Notepad). Coulda sword this was in a pinned topic, dunno how many times I repeat it almost every time I log in .

Now offhand, if you install a mod that adds new areas and visit said areas (or connecting areas) without starting a new game, that will invariably crash your game (maybe that should be in a pinned topic too).

Nah, not megamod by its definition.
Which area in Sirine's Call crashes? One thing you can also try is to warp to a crashing area using CLUAConsole and see if it loads up.

Yes, the .err upon crashing for the area in Lure of Sirine's Call would be helpful. Last CTD-report I got was due to a missing game resource (the light map of the reused area).

Okay, sorry for the delayed response. All of those mods were installed prior to starting the game, with the exception of Ascension. I was assuming... and hoping... it would be okay since I was barely into the BG1 portion.

Here is the Baldur.log after the crash. This is when trying to enter the lighthouse in the Sword Coast.

Well, I did originally want to use BiG World Install, but I didn't like how I couldn't control which mod components it installed rather than messing with the .bat file which was a huge hassle to me. Instead I looked at the .pdf manual and installed the mods manually in the order it listed, other than Ascension which I didn't originally want to install...

Need baldur.err not baldur.log. If you don't have one, you need to edit your baldur.ini file as I described. But question: did you start a new game after installing Sirine's Call? If not, that can explain it right there, if you previously visited the area.

Nope, Sirine's Call was installed prior to starting the game.

And here's the real Baldur.err:

Sorry to bump this, but is there a certain place the tileset should be? And what type of files are those?

They would be .TIS and they should be compressed into your BIFF file. If you performed some manual BIFFing and somehow the chitin.key stuffed up, I'm afraid that is bad news. Otherwise, you could try re-installing Sirine's Call + Bonehill.

I'm guessing this is something weird with Windows Vista/7 installing to Program Files and/or User Account Control disabling batch files from being run (which is what extracts tilesets and such). If that's the case, you'll have far more problems than just with those two mods.

I am using Windows 7, yes, but I have UAC disabled and all BG stuff is in G:\ Also, I killed Sarevok last night and tested the transition into BG2 which seemed to work as it's supposed to. Bone Hill and Sirene's Call are the only area crashes I've had like this, but I have, however, had about 5 random crashes over the course of the 40 hours I spent on the BG1 portion, usually while walking in the middle of an area and didn't happen twice.

edit: I tried to re-install Bone Hill and it looks like it completely broke my install, game crashes when I load my save in Baldur's Gate city... Looks like I get to spend 5 hours re-installing everything from scratch and praying that it works... I love this.

edit 2: Okay, I reinstalled everything and it seems to all be in working order, Sirine's Call is working as well. The NPC for Bone Hill seems to be missing in action though, but he was before I reinstalled too. Not sure if killing Sarevok had something to do with that or not. Oh well.

Which NPC? Might want to report that in the Bone Hill forum, so someone who knows more about the mod can look into it.
