Hey All,

Does anyone still happen to have any old copies of Classic Adventures BEFORE v035 that I could download?

NOTE: For archival purposes only!! ;)

Cheers,

So you would be looking for these:

.35 Spellchecks, updated areas, weapons, dialogs, etc
.34 Major fixes to dialogs and scripts
.33 Added Mistmoor mod, changed Worldmap, add fixes to Sunless Citadel and
Saltmarsh ares. Added Paraway, Rilithar, Vlidamyr, Rihn, and Fala'stra NPCs.
.32 Finalized U2 and U3 modules. Fixed dialog and script problems found in chapter 1.
Fixed Althon, Blush, and Aesdale dialog problems. Also added in TDD spells.
.31 Fixed several dialog problems and some scripts.
.3 Finalized U1 module. Fixed dialogs and made Meepo an NPC.
.2 Added U1 module. Fixed problems in .1.
.1 Nothing yet. First release.

I haven't even been then here, so I can't have had them... but as this mod was Sir BillyBob's and leahnkain's, they might have had one.
 For your archiveness... ;)

Just out of curiosity why would you want to archive an older version? I am unsure if SirBillybob or myself has every older version still. Additionally the reason why we create new versions is because of updates, new NPC's, more dialogs and bug fixes. If you are looking for the older NPC pictures or soundsets I might be able to help.It just seems like a waste of disk space to have the older versions.

May be LoneRogue have different reasons in mind, but I keep older versions just in case something goes bad in newer versions compatibility-wise, like with TS, or in case newer versions are lacking something I liked about older ones. Good example is TDD - it's older versions contained TNO cameo, while newer doesn't. Oh, and there's also relics of sentimental value, e.g. Travellers in Time mod (which became Spine of the World which in turn became NeJ) that was among the first mods I played.

All in all, main reason for me to keep legacy versions is fear that mod's author will do something in a new version that I don't like/don't want.

That, and that the LoneRogue is known for his archives... of all the versions of all the BG2 mods.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the positive feedback and replies ("archiveness"...lol)!! :)

To be more precise, over the last five years I have been trying to archive as many versions as I can of most mods for BG1, BG2, BGT, IWD, & IWD2, as well as the old TeamBG files. It may seem like a waste of time and space to others, but I really enjoy these games (as most everyone here does) and I want to preserve the efforts of all the people who have contributed to IE Modding over the years. To be honest, I don't have every mod (due to size, components, frequent updates, my interest, relevance/significance, and/or overall quality), but I am getting there! ;)

And for those who are interested, I currently have over 2,830 files archived, taking up almost 25GB of space! :)
All of them are backed up and organized by game engine, mod name, and version with a ReadMe attached.
**NOTE: I do not, nor will I every tamper with the original contents of the creator's mod(s).

Hope this helps
and thank you,
LoneRogue

Unfortunately I have nothing before Mistmoor was added (around .33) due to a dead hard drive. So all original data was lost including graphics archives I hoped to use to touch up the Citadel and other areas created way back when.

Actually I think it was my oldest version which I uploaded and gave to SirBillyBob after his hard drive crashed. I might have an older version(Without Aesdale?) but it would take me some time to hunt around for it.

The Darkest Day WeiDU, current version 1.12 and my copy of 1.13, certainly do have The Nameless One Cameo and Fall From Grace to this day. I can tell how you how it's done too because it is not done by an animation slot  Recheck your installations.

Good point with the Traveller's in Time as that was before I even knew of mods, or the Baldur's Gate series for that matter. I would like to have that real old TS and NeJ stuff myself.

I think the archiving is nice and I have done it with a lot of mods myself. Sure they shouldn't be uploaded on servers all the time because that is a waste of space and one should play the newest versions anyway as a rule.

EDIT: Again :WTF:

It seems my dad started playing at around v0.32 and I started playing soon afterword, but I haven't kept any of the first versions. I've searched around, even in an internet archiving site, but didn't have much luck. Version 0.31 can still be found here. I haven't been able to find any of the other earliest versions, although the .TP2 for v0.33 can be found here. I'll keep an eye out, though.

Hey Guys,

Thank you for all your effort... I know this is kind of a pain.

Hey Sam,

Thanks for the links, but I'll already found both of those. ;)

I sure hope you guys will be able to find something. :)

I remember role-playing and DM'ing most of the modules in CA when I starting playing D&D and AD&D way back in 1980 (boy, do I feel old...lol). :woot:

email me and I'll send them to you or host them.

That's interesting to know as I never met FFG in any of my TDD playthroughs, no matter how old. I'm afraid I won't be able to understand that magic trickery by which you avoided use of animation slots anyway, but I figure it doesn't matter anymore as we have Erephine's incredible Infinity Animations now :)

As for pre-NeJ legacy, I'm afraid I was a bit too optimistic about having Travelers in Time ( :crying: ), but I do have Spine of the World v.1.6 as well as an assortment of older Nej versions (1.1 - 1.3, 6.5 - 6.6), let me know if you want any :)

Hey Creepin,

Thank you so much for the reply! :D

I am very interested in your copy of Spine of the World v1.6. Was that the last version before it was added to NeJ? I don't know how big it is, but if it is more than about 10MB, you may want to upload it somewhere for download. Else, PM me and I can send you my e-mail address.

As far as old versions of NeJ go, that's one of the few mods I don't collect, because of its' large size and many, many, many versions and sub-versions that don't seem to have a logical progression or path. Unless you or someone else can enlighten me, I think I will pass on NeJ.

Too bad about Travelers in Time, but oh well... thanks for looking! ;)

BTW, do you by chance have an old copy of Wheel of Time for BG1 hanging around somewhere?

Thank you,
LoneRogue

Hey LoneRogue, I just uploaded Spine of the World for you to DepositFiles, I'm not sure wether I've picked good enough file hosting as I rarely use them, so let me know if there's problems and I'll upload it someplace else. :)

Never heard of this actually, the only Wheels I'm aware of are the ones of Prophecy for BG2 ;)

Too bad about Travelers in Time, but oh well... thanks for looking! ;)

If by some quirk of fate you'll stumble upon a copy, let me know! :)
