I'm encountering a problem with installpack V9.1.4. Specifically, I receive the following error:

'TheUndying.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

The problem occurs at these lines in Big World install.bat:

%IFXGNLS%TheUndying%S%TheUndying%L%0%SK% 1 2 --logapp | %M%
%IFXHNLS%TheUndying%S%TheUndying%L%0%SK% 1 2 --logapp | %M%

The macros for 'IFXGNLS' and 'IFXHNLS' do not exist in the batch file. This means that the batch file will always end up trying to execute 'TheUndying.exe' which of course does not exist, the file name is 'setup-TheUndying.exe'. This causes the entire install to abort without notification and fail to install any mods intended to be placed after this point. I believe the correct fix is to add the following lines near the beginning of Big World install.bat:

SET IFXGNLS=IF EXIST BWP_Expert IF EXIST BWP_German IF NOT EXIST BWP_Language IF EXIST Setup-
SET IFXHNLS=IF EXIST BWP_Expert IF EXIST BWP_Spanish IF NOT EXIST BWP_Language IF EXIST Setup-

Hey folks, my panda anti-virus is reporting a trojan in item_rev-v2.exe.. it's saying it's this particular virus..
http://www.cloudanti...ic%20Trj/82040/

The specific file within the .exe archive that appears to be the trojan is setup-item_rev.exe, in fact if I extract the archive my virus scanner picks it up immediatly and removes it (I know you're suppost to turn off anti-viruses during the batch process but this got picked up in the self-extraction stage).

I wouldn't be surprised to find this is a false positive, but it seems a little hairy considering my anti-virus detects it right at extraction (the executable isn't being run).

This is indeed a false positive. I've uploaded a new item_rev-v2.exe to the main G3 site that the virus scanners will hopefully like so this matter can be resolved once and for all.

Thanks.. putting together an install at 4 in the morning with little sleep.. my brain was probably just looking for any excuse to go to bed.

I just installed The Big World (tactical), and there was no "Finished Downloading" message or anything; I came back to my computer and the DOS box that had been installing for hours was simply gone. I assumed it installed everything alright. I have finished everything in Candlekeep and have moved onto the next map. I have yet to notice anything different. Can someone tell me what some of the things I should notice might be in Candlekeep and just outside of? For example, I thought that with the mods, BG1 was supposed to mimic BG2 in that there is dual-wield, but not for me. Everything seems the same, although I haven't played in 10 years, so can someone please let me know of obvious differences or point out a few specifics I might look for?

It kinda sounds like you started BG1 and started a normal game of it.  You should be playing via BG2, creating a character within it's client and then starting in Candlekeep.

And it sounds like you hit the issue with the Undying mod in the install process that causes the whole process to just suddenly terminate, it's been fixed with the latest BWP update.

I got it to completely install (I'm assuming) since it got to a point at which it said to use TobExLoader if recall correctly. But, when I try TobExLoader, a little popup says: "WinMain(): FindFirstFileA() failed. The system cannot find the file specified." ???

Try to start the game with the BGMain.exe (it's in the BG2 directory).
If that doesn't help(so you get an error like the above), we need to know a lot more about your system, the OS etc. you might think that could be relevant.

BGMain only opens to the BGToS game without the mods, and it is actually in my Baldur's Gate folder, not my BGII - SoA folder. I did everything as instructed by the BWS. My OS is windows xp pro. I am wondering if I shouldn't just reinstall the entire thing from the very beginning.

I'm not sure where else to post this problem. I just killed the Warden in the Plane with the Master of Thralls and Anomen is stuck in Maze. He has been there for an hour of real time and I even tried resting a dozen times. He is never coming out. How do I get Anomen out of the Maze?

If I remember Jaheira was Mazed previously and just came out of it after a little while. Anomen appears to be there permanently.

I don't think your install worked correctly I suspect that you fell foul of the bug in BIg World Install.bat detailed towards the bottom of This Thread

BWP currently seems a little confused concerning the Saerileth mod, when I tested the links it reported that Saerileth_v15 is defective.  When I proceeded with the install it reported that it was unable to download the Saerileth mod, and when it offered a manual download attempt it asked me to save saerileth_v14.rar to the download directory (v15 seems to be the current release, and it's a zip file at the link I found it at).

edit-Nevermind, seems several mods have been updated very recently and are effecting the downloading.. I'm guessing this is normal and I should shush and patiently await a BW update.   :D

There is also same named file in the BGII - SoA folder... believe me, I know, or I wouldn't be able to keep the 10 co-existing&working BG2 games in he same computer.

I am wondering if I shouldn't just reinstall the entire thing from the very beginning.

Well, it might help. I would advice to cut the 'BiG World Downloads' folder to somewhere safe, then uninstall the BG2 game, and empty the game folder(delete it), reinstall the BGII - SoA and then the ToB, then patch it to v(2.5.)26498, then copy the 'BiG World Downloads' folder, than start the BiG World Setup.exe and so it extracts to the BGII - SoA folder...

The save-section does not really matter.
Downloads which are available as PHP-links are updated every time you download the file or test if the links are available. Same goes for the file-size. It's more or less just a place to store the value between download and extraction.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Heya  Small problem with ToBEx now that the Scrollable stuff gets installed ... it's disabled by default in the ToBEx.ini, so you'll have to maually set the Enabled=1 in the ini :P
