Apologies if this is in the wrong place or has been answered before, but I couldn't find anything using Google and the forum search engine is borked, so...

Basically, I'm running Win 7 x64 Ultimate, and it seems that BWS can't extract the mods after downloading them. I've turned off UAC and PCA, done a fresh install of BG1 and 2 (to D:\Black Isle...), patched them, done a quicksave for both, ejected the CDs and downloaded all the mods via BWS. The only thing that is non-standard is that I've had to manually get BPSeries v4.00 and edit the relevant component in BWS (ie renaming and changing bytesize) since v3.61 is no longer available. I did this for an 8.3 install in Win XP, and it worked, so I don't think that's the problem.

As you can see from the log, I'm getting a weird extraction problem. Does anyone know of a way around this? I tried extracting everything manually, but that seems like a fools errand; the paths were all messed up.

Can you try to extract "by hand" these archives with 7zip or another archive manager?

btw, I did a BWS v8.2 install in Windows 7 x64 without extracting problem.

Hope this helps

If you look at the Debug-file, it looks like the extraction is not "supervised" until it is finished.
So there is a lot of yelping through the extraction itself.
But the last checks after the NSIS-packages are extracted looks for the tp2-file for every mod and finds these files since the extraction was done properly in the end - it just was not monitored any more.
Thus the final "result" explains that you have to extract 2 files on your own...

The extraction of the following mod(s) failed:
Grimuars v3.3: The Mod itself (Grimuar-v3.3.7z)
BP Series v3.61: The Mod itself (BPSeries_v400.zip)

Some files were not extracted.
Do you want to open the files in your default-packager to try it yourself?
(Look at the notes in the help-text on the right side.)

The Installation should be able to run properly.
Missing mods, which were needed, can ruin the installation.
Check if you need the mods, which you could not extracted.
Do you want to remove the mods, which the "BiG World Setup" could not extract, from the installation-list for safety reasons?
(Note: If you could extract the listed mods for your own then choose "N" to let them in the installation-list.)

I know that it would be better if the BWS would do it's job as it should, but I don't own vista nor 7 so I definitely can't reproduce those test-scenarios. Basically the script waits for a process to exist and then to not exist / exit. Why your script had problems with that... dunno.

THINK! - It's not illegal.
