Hi, I wanted to try something new; so i decided to give classic adventures a 2nd try.

The last time i tried it, it didnt work because of my own stupidity. This time however, I'm not in the wrong. I got a clean install of both full BG2 and TOB. Then i got the patch 26498. I tried to get the download over to the game directory; but the damn thing wont even extract to the game folder. Every time it does it keeps going from the beginning saying this application isn't right or whatever else. I dont get it, why wont it extract?

Does anyone know what I should do.

Check that the download is complete, maybe? It's a huge file, I think 1.3 gig even in .rar format. If some of the files are missing, that might be your problem. Or do you mean that you're getting "Windows doesn't know how to open this" error messages? In that case, download rarlab, winzip, or 7zip, all of which are free and will easily extract rar files. Windows Vista and 7 cause additional complications with User Account Control; maybe that's a part of it.

Appreciate the advice. Just managed to figure out what was wrong. It was jzip. The only problem is now i have a new problem. The files are in the directory only they wont install. It keeps coming up with error sometimes and other times it will only half install. This mod has never gotten close to working on my computer and i guess it's just not very compatible.

It probably isn't the mod. If it was, there would be tons more bug reports.
Try this:
Disable User Account Control, if running Vista or Windows 7
Disable your antivirus program
Check your BG2 directory for the folder Classics052 and the files Setup-Classics052.exe and Setup-Classics.tp2
Restore a clean backup/reinstall the game
Make sure you did a full install of BG2 and ToB
Re-download the mod and try installing it
And the mirror, it reflects a tiny dancing skeleton, surrounded by a fleshy overcoat and swaddled in

Erhm, the archive is a .rar archive, not a .jZip liker ther program... keep the file extensions up(W7, Vista, XP...) if you wish to actually know what files are what.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you guys until now.

The problem was a simple act of my own stupidity. I fixed it and now it's working. So far I am pretty happy with this conversion (Congrats to the makers). I can only guess how tough it was to make this. The game so far is pretty tough as well.
