A bit reminiscent of System Shock in places as well, though not quite on the same level.

The end result of quality is really up to what the player's wanting from it really, if you seek role-playing, be disappointed, if you expect adventure, be disappointed. If you expect predictable shooter action (rail-shooter-esque even?), and maybe a ton-load of other goodies, be excited.

If you've ever experienced Half-Life2 dialogue before, expect plenty of that in style. If one looks for a challenge, well, checkpoints are a bit messed up (confirmed only for Xbox360 variant) and it can throw some rather nasty moves at the player in the most dreadful segments. Whenever you're doing your usual soldiering around though, combat's a fair let down by comparison, in a title comparison, think Diablo-esque.
In terms of audio and environmental issues, you may see some similarities to certain other genres during the quiet scenes, although unfortunately these can be let down by the fact that like enemy ambushes, they can be fairly predictable but because the path is linear in origin, you have no real choice with it.
This said however, I will say the environment and audio is a highlight point for the DLC, and in the fruit of its best moments, it really shines. This doesn't include the BGM aspect though, which suffers from repetitiveness in combat (no variety at all, one theme is it), and is only redeemed through the use of dark humour (although replay value is debatable).
In terms of potential problems one might encounter, terrain glitches and abysmal sections in-between the usual style of gameplay but fortunately nothing game-breaking, more often you'll encounter problems with what you're moving around as instead, other than occasional enemy clustering it's fairly seamless from my tell.
Difficulty, in depth, well, can be summed up like this. Unfortunately if anyone was expecting to see innovative tactics by enemy AI, I'unno, like ambushing from right underneath the player for a change rather than charging them in the face as is fairly common. Occasionally they will try their usual flank routine however and this does encourage one to keep moving, or entrench themselves before moving forward. The excessive amount of cover for usual gameplay makes this fairly simple to employ as there are less sniper posts than other areas of ME2, but expect to be hit a few times before realizing you're ambushed.
Now in terms of plot, as one might've guessed, it's fairly typical for its type. The execution in my own opinion is lacking in the flair to really immerse the player beyond the compassionate stand-point, but when one looks past this defect it still fits rather well for the small space required of it, this as I said before is not exactly the fresh bread for RPG or Adventure genre fans. Does the plot really make you care beyond a certain point however? The answer would be no, and whilst you get jabbered onto less than the main game, there is occassionally an urge you just want to grab this person and---- Communications are not at optimal conditions, due to increased flailing activity in the southern hemisphere. Please try again later. Thank you for using SHSPostcom, rambling today for a better Slayer tomorrow. ----

I feel that the story is related to the ME:Retribution book.
I give Overlord 4/5.
At least Legion got a mention when i brought it along.

Honestly, most of that applies to the entire game. All the missions take place along linear paths. All ambushes are obvious (CHEST HIGH WALLS ARGH). The AI during the mission behaves just as it does in the main game. I don't think it's any less of an "adventure" than any other random mission that was included in the original, either.complaints
That said, it doesn't really add anything. Just like the Firewalker pack, it feels standalone, tacked on. Content-wise, it probably has more than Kasumi, but at least she sticks with you through the entire thing and gets you a new gun. This quest is just another random mission that's irrelevant to the plot and, most likely, will never be referenced again. (Well, okay, maybe you'll get an email if you get the nice ending.)
Anyway, it'll keep you busy for a while, so it's not too horrible.
