Hello,

I hope this would be the best place to ask this - I'm very curious as to how one could create a new creature in the style on those that already appear in Baldur's Gate or IceWind Dale. What program should be used? A 3D making one or something like Adobre After Effects? How to go about it at all? All I know is that they are based on frames, but no idea how to go about it... Is there some program that allows to position skeleton's built to create poses or something like that? Thank you in advance for any help! :crying:

I don't think anyone has ever created an IE animation from scratch, but rather has based them on existing animations or imported them from other games. So no one probably can give you much advice (least of all me) but I think you would start by modeling your creature in a 3D program (3DS Max, Blender, Gmax or whatever) then export each "action" sequence as animated GIF files, then import those into BAMs with BAM Workshop or whatever. There is some small information at least on how you would arrange those sequences here (under "Proper order for the BGII animation slots").

Infinity Engine Contributions
Aurora * BG1 NPC * BG1 Fixpack * Haiass * Infinity Animations * Level 1 NPCs * P5Tweaks
PnP Free Action * Thrown Hammers * Unique Containers * BG:EE * BGII:EE * IWD:EE

Player & Modder Resources
BAM Batcher * Creature Lister * Creature Checker * Creature Fixer * Tutu/BGT Area Map & List * Tutu Mod List
