It's interesting that the wrong word has been used throughout the entire discussion - the word 'buy' has been used. You don't 'buy' software, you license it and every single EULA states somewhere that if you break our license terms, we will withdraw access to the software. Well, in most cases that's unenforceable but not in EA's case. Tread carefully...

To me it's interesting how game developers and publishers always encourage people to buy their games, not the license and remind you that what you have actually bought is just the license, and not the game, only when something goes wrong.

And AFTER you've already paid, of course. Which is only then you get to see the EULA (not that anyone reads those things anyway).

Myahahaha! Exactly! Especially the comic about Anders. Just as I wrote in that other thread - that last Act 1 dialogue with Anders is romance-related no matter what. The only "good and non-romance" exit out of it would be not clicking on Anders while in his clinic ever again during Chapter 1, if you don't want to romance him.

B^U

...as horrible as it feels to admit, I can't find anything wrong with the last two.

I don't get the first one, though. Unless the joke is that you will never again be able to select an answer that detailed because picking either "hurf", "durf" or "derp" on the dialogue wheel is THE NEW SHIT.

B^Uckley likes to insult gamers every time they disagree with whatever the Allmighty Neverfailing Designer decided; in this case, I assume he's making fun of people who complain that the dialogue wheel simplifies too much the dialogues.

That, or it's referencing Charlie Sheen (which can be confirmed by googling for the phrases themselves).

Yep. Hawke is supposed to resemble him as well.

Nice comics, I especially like how that "remains" bit was done. I don't particularly care about the metacritic news, because I don't rely on it for anything. And I assume that developers and publishers do that all the time anyway.

I'm not going to post as many newsbits now that the game is released, but I'll try to remember to post some of the more meaningful ones. There are a few new articles up at greywardens.com, but I won't link to them because they're full of spoilers. Even the titles could considered spoilers.

It looks great, but it crashed on my work station. I guess not enough resources.

By the way, is it just me or is the Walking Bomb spell totally uncool in DA2? Fire magic - great. Cold magic - excellent. Lightning magic - all fine. But start with spirit, and what do you get? Sigh. And I've upgraded the spell, too.

Yeah, they nerfed the mages a bit. Disappointing, but it does give the warriors and rogues a chance to kill something, too.

Mages are increasingly more about crowd control and buffs in DA II, but you can still do some heavy damage if you pay attention to the cross class combos.

The upgraded Fist of the Maker and staggered enemies combo is one of my favorites - Aveline can stagger 3-5 enemies at once, so that's easily five to eight thousand damage in total, depending on your level/gear and the number of enemies. The joke is that Aveline is hardly affected by the spell because she's not staggered.

The upgraded Gravitic Ring and AoE damage spells work really well together as well. Especially if you block a doorway/corridor with Gravitic Ring, and then just fry the enemies in the area with AoE spells because they can't get to you.

Not to mention that somebody vaporized mobs with 50,000 damage by fiddling with the upgraded Walking Bomb and various other things. It's safe to say that mages still have the highest burst damage potential.
