I've lost track of exactly which modder(s) run BWP, so here's a general request to whoever it is:

I don't at all object to other people distributing fixes to my mods, or even fixed versions of my mods. Quite apart from anything else, I have a fairly busy job and often disappear from the modding scene for months at a time. It would be churlish of me to object to others helping out in the interim by fixing bugs I don't fix.

But I do think it's courteous, when you do it, to make sure you tell me about it in some way that I'm definitely going to come across (posting about it at the relevant G3 forum is best). I really don't want to have to trawl around indefinitely many BWP threads looking for SCS-relevant material; I really don't want to have to download BWP and dissect its code to find SCS fixes; I really don't want to have to field SCS bug reports where the error has occurred not in my own code, but in someone else's modification of my code. (And sometimes, when I actually track down a "fix", it turns out to be wrong, based on a misunderstanding of how SCS is coded.)

The latest version of the BWP install guide says this (page 213):

BWP is working closely with the modders. Once we have a new bug fix, it will be installed with the BWP Fixpack
and is immediately available to all players. At the same time, the modder will be informed about the
patches made.

That seems a very sensible policy, but I don't think the modder is being informed at present (at least, I'm not).

So, a request: if anyone wants to provide a bugfixed or compatibility-fixed version of one of my mods, or distribute a modified version of my mod, please do - but then please post at G3, tell me exactly what you've done, and provide a link.

There's no ultimatum or anything here: I'm not going to say "or else you can't do XYZ", and I don't think you'd have any obligation to pay attention if I did. I imagine what's going on is just that you're very busy keeping BWP up to date and have slightly forgotten about the pledge to inform modders (especially as the great majority aren't active any more). But I'd very much appreciate it if you'd go back to doing this, and I think in the long term it's healthier for BWP and for the modding scene as a whole.

Well my guess would be that this was Leomars part and he's been taking a longer timeout. White Agnus and Lollorian, who did provide some fixes and might have been involved in posting, are also absent for a longer time.

If you want to know the changes to scs/scsII quickly, download the BWP-Fixpack, extract it and open your mods folders. If there is a patch to it, it's provided in patch-format. If a file would be copied/overwritten, it would placed in a folder named _copy in your mods (sub-)folder.
(Yes, that would not be getting the info from us in a "passive" way, but I thought I mention it.)

Well, if you wish to trace the fixes the BiG World Fixpack does, it's readme says this:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: Sword Coast Stratagems (SCSI) v14

:: Move the guard's starting point so that his dialogues not overlaps with the tutorial dialogue. - addtoarea.baf
:: This is no fix. The BWP need it for the component "Skip Candlekeep" to customize the gameplay.
:: http://forums.gibber...showtopic=17036

:: Lollorian's replacements - _wtarsgt.baf
:: http://forums.gibber...showtopic=19632

:: ScuD's corrected TRA line - setup-scs.tp2
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=163833

:: Temujin's "Dark Side-based kobold upgrade" fix - kobold.tph
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=166631

:: Temujin's "Improved Endbattle" fix - endbattle.tph
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=166631
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: Sword Coast Stratagems II (SCSII) v13

:: Help typo - help.tph
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=163938

:: Temujin's .d corruption fix
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=164455

:: Lollorian's replacement - dw#grpin.BAF
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=165552

:: Wisp's component naming typo fix - setup-scsII.tp2
:: http://forums.gibber...ndpost&p=165847
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, the BWfixpacks fixes are linked to the fixed files lines, so if you, the moder, corrects the line, and the BWFixpack is then installed, the BWFixpack's install process doesn't "see" the failed line anymore(when it's changed), the fix is not applied anymore...
Now, those were for the last versions fixes, but you might wish to recheck if you have done some kind of correction to the above linked issues anyways...

It's helpful to be told where to look, but it's not really a substitute for just being informed directly. It's BWP's official policy to do so (see that bit of the readme I quoted) - I'm just reminding people of that policy.

BWP puts TDD in its 'Recommended' section. That should give you an idea of how well guidelines are followed in practice.

Italian users: help test the Stivan NPC!

Author or Co-Author: WeiDU - Widescreen - Generalized Biffing - Refinements - TB#Tweaks - IWD2Tweaks - TB#Characters - Traify Tool - Some mods that I won't mention in public
Maintainer: Semi-Multi Clerics - Nalia Mod - Nvidia Fix
Code dumps: Detect custom secondary types - Stutter Investigator

If possible, send diffs, translations and other contributions using Git.

The current version of TDD here at ShS (not sure what TeamBG releasing at their new web site) is stable and what I think you are referring to is yours and others subjective quality of the mod. The BWP guys 'Recommended' mods is for a stable MegaMod not the best/most fun mods.

It's the same version, and in the future, the TeamBG's version will be the one that everybody should download... the SHS can upkeep a mirror when the next release comes out, but the release should happen in the TeamBG's site.
Now, we should try to keep this to be about the SCS'es, so DavidWallace can keep this topic as a favorite/bookmarked, so he doesn't have to run all over the forums in search for error reports and fixes to his mods.
