Hello Internet!

Here is the issue: I am currently playing BGII without any mods, the main character being a neutral good halfelf ranger/cleric. I planned to convert to a priest of lathander during the game, believing that I could choose the temple I would like to belong to. Seems that I was wrong. I was asked by the temple of helm to solve the Unseeind Eye quest. After completing that, when I was offered to join the temple of helm, I declined, believing that the other temples would offer me to join as well. Did'nt happen, so I read up on walkthroughs and guides and learned: Wrong alignment. In order to join the temple of lathander, I should have chosen the chaotic good alignment and would have been approached by a priest of lathander right away.

Yes, I assumed that you all know already how that quest works. I just wanted to give a description of my situation. :) I wold really like to join the temple of lathander, the kit does suit me better than the priest of helm. I believe that my situation requires a BG Code wizard, so I came here. Can I tinker with the game in a way that will allow that? Is there a secret console hack or a checkbox that I can click or a value I can change or antyhing else to tell the game that yes, indeed, the temple of lathander is just waiting to offer me the right quests to join them and will make me a full priest of lathander once I complete those quests?

Your help will be most appreciated. Thank all of you in advance!

Well, the truth of the thing is, you won't be converted to be anything, you might get access to the temples special quests as the temple is made to be your Stronghold, but that's it, you won't be made to be Ranger/Priest of anything, as the kit is only available at the game start, and only for single class clerics as a kit. No body has ever actually even made a mod that would do this... even though it's kinda possible to be made, because of the features the kit applies are really sithius, yes that's a new word, for 'evil/hard to code/etc'.

So you do not even get any benefits even if you try to cheat yourself to get access to the other Temples.
The cheating is possible to done with the Console, and codes like this:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("yxtch","GLOBAL",1)
... but you need to know exactly which the "yxtch" GLOBAL is and to what set it to, and I cannot help you there.

Thank you very much. Obviosly, this was a misconception on my side. I mixed up "Stronghold Quest" and "Prestige class". My bad. I still want to have my priest stronghold, though. :)

If I remember it right, you just need to follow the Helm's priest path, just like all the other non-kitted clerics would.
Or would you like to have the Lathanders path ?

Ah, well, here it gets tricky. Now that I realize that I can't get the prestige class anyway, I would not mind to get the Helm stronghold. As long as I can get my priest stronghold, I'm fine. But you see, without paying to much attention to the dialogue, I clicked on something like, "No, Thanks, I don't want to be part of your club", declining the quest. Now, everytime I speak to the priest in the temple of helm, he says something along the line of "You let a once-in-a-lifetime chance pass. You are welcome here, but yo will never become a member!".

So, I cannot follow the normal helm's priest path at the moment. Can I reset what ever value it is that told the priest I'm not interested? Can I make the game "forget" that we had this dialogue, so the next time I talk to him, he will offer me a quest to join their gang?

Make sure you have a save game to fall back on... the easiest way I think to do this is to use the Console(link above) with these 3 commands:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("JoinHelm","GLOBAL",1)
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("PlayerHasStronghold","GLOBAL",1)
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("HELMBYR")
The last code line creates the Acolyte Byron who is the next person you will be talking to... but I am not really sure that will give you the best result.

You can also try this if the above doesn't work after you have loaded the safe save:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("BeholderPlot","GLOBAL",2)
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("JoinHelm","GLOBAL",0)
And talk to the High Watcher Oisig.

Or if that doesn't work, try this(the least likely to succeed):
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("BeholderPlot","GLOBAL",1)
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("JoinHelm","GLOBAL",0)
And then talk to the High Watcher Oisig...

*bump*

Sooo... I'm playing a Fighter/Thief and I wish to have both the Keep as a stronghold as well as my own thieves' guild. The Keep I've already got, so how can I make it happen that I can also run my own guild? Pretty please? :)

I believe you can use the G3 mod called BG2 tweaks by installing the component called "Multiple Strongholds".  That should allow you to have as many strongholds as you desire.
