So, I don't think that I'm trying to do anything complicated here... All I'm trying to install is BG2 Fixpack v9 and Baldur's Gate Trilogy 1.10

So, I install:
Baldur's Gate 1
Tales of the Sword Coast
Baldur's Gate 2
Throne of Bhaal
Baldur's Gate 1 patch 5512
Throne of Bhaal patch 26498
Eject all CDs, turn off antivirus, all of that
Install Fixpack
Install BGT

Here's my WeiDU.log, for what it's worth:

So, all that done, I start up the game, and things play fine through Candlekeep and up through Gorion being killed out in the Crossroads.
I go to the edge of the area and click to leave, and it loads up a map...

The problem is, the map that it loads is the one from Baldur's Gate 2.
The only area selectable is Waukeen's Promenade, and, of course, trying to enter there crashes the game.

I've tried looking everywhere for solutions. I've come across a couple of people having the same problem, but, haven't found anything as far as solutions that would work.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game countless times (making sure the game has fully uninstalled - even deleting the entire directories a couple of times and starting everything from scratch), and still the same thing.

Does anyone have any ideas of what is causing this and anything that can be done to fix it?
Any help is very much appreciated.

Well, to follow up on my previous post, I did (it seems) solve the problem.

While I had been uninstalling and clearing out the directories and such, I had been keeping the save file and putting that back in when I started again. I uninstalled and removed everything, and when I reinstalled created a new save, and made it up to that point, the appropriate map is now showing up.
So, most likely I had done something wrong in the original installation, and, while I had uninstalled and reinstalled, whatever problem there was, was still hanging out in my save file.

So, yay, problem solved, and on with my adventure. Just figured I'd post here in case anyone else ran into a similar sort of issue, as opposed to leaving the topic without a follow-up conclusion.

So, yay, problem solved, and on with my adventure. Just figured I'd post here in case anyone else ran into a similar sort of issue, as opposed to leaving the topic without a follow-up conclusion.

Ah, I am just having the same problem. Have just reinstalled a BGT game and now I have the BG2 worldmap, so I can't go anywhere. Only this time I didn't clear out my save game folder before reinstalling, is it possible this is causing the problem??

Well, if you use the saves, then yes... but if you start a new game, then you should not have this problem... And when you install the Fixpacks first component and the BGT, you should use the Worldmap mod(after you have installed any other mods that change the worldmap, like these two do)... or you'll be using only the latest alteration to the original worldmap...

BWS - Standard = not imba items spells or cheats. Tactical = AI hardly stupid = stupid hard. Expert = broke.
In case the BG2 game crashes post the content of your baldur.err file. To get it to record stuff, open up the 'baldur.ini' in your game folder with Notepad, and under the [Program Options] section in the file, make a new line and type in 'Logging On=1' (without the '' quotes, unless the line is already there)... Save the file and exit. Now go back into the game and try to reproduce the crash. Then look in your game folder again for the Baldur.err file and open it with the Notepad to analyze its contents, or let us do it.

Well, if you use the saves, then yes... but if you start a new game, then you should not have this problem... I have installed the big world map and all seems to work now, but before I did that, some info:
? Before reinstalling mods I replaced BG main, Overide folder, Chitin.key and Dialog.tlk with clean versions but left everything else intact, including save folder. New game had BG2 map
? I cleared out save folder, started a new game and still had BG2 map
