I may have a little problem with Olmar's Castles area RR3403. When i enter the room it looks like Candlekeep (AR0015.WED) (looked at NI). I think that it should look like something else. Containers and entrances are at wrong places among other things.

Nothing major. No crashes or anything else it just look wrong.

I was wondering what's the right WED.

The correct file is AR0015 and the WED file has nothing to do with containers, it involves doors and wall vertexes. There are only three containers in the RR3403.ARE file so that is what we see and get.

Thanks for explaining about WED file. Containers aren't problem they are there but rather funny places also entrances are ok. If AR0015.WED is correct it's then ok and not a bug in my install.

It was suprise to arrive Candlekeep when i enter my new Strongholds second floor.

I'm sorry for being such a pain in a butt. This is the first time play these big BG2 mods (TDD,SoS,CtB,TS and RoT).

I stop posting these stupid questions.

Yeah it is just area reusing except changing some entrances and doors and you will see a lot of that with those mods installed. That is sometimes a good reason to not play every single quest from every single mod as it will seem repetitive.

Well i don't mind seeing same places as long as it fits "logically" to previous area or something like that. I don't know how explained better.

It's not big deal. I've seen many same places during the five months i've been playing this install.

It's just i'm a pack-rat "sucker for unique and not so unique items" who likes to play every NPCs and quests. So pretty much everything in the game. Weird

That's understandable and a lot of people play like that. With that in mind, you will have a good attitude seeing "Beregost" a couple more times later on as the quests will be more important. :whistling:

The areas could be changed a little to look slightly different like Classic Adventures uses Umar Hills basically but recolors it. One would have to have graphic editing software like GIMP or something. If anyone wants to work on something like that, I would gladly include them in an update for whichever mod.

This is slighty of-topic. Now that you mention "Beregost" and I'm at Riatavin (not RoT area but TDD) just now.

I was wondering about that infamous Beregost bug which i luckily haven't experienced. Is it possible that these "Beregost" areas have it.

Probably because it was related to a search map or y vertices or something stupid. The Beregost fixer only looks for that exact area and will not work for the areas related to other mods since they use different names and prefixes.

I compared the Riativin area with a "fixed" Beregost but I am too dense to see if the problem would be spread to Riatvin or Soubar. Soubar won't matter cause the offending door doesn't open anyway.

Thanks for info.

Well if it happens it happens. I always make archive save before entering a new area. I deleted these saves when i reach at end BG, end SoA and end ToB.

I think that i finally figured what causes this Olmar's Castle area RR4303 wrong wed-file problem at least in my BWP install. This is second BWP install that have this problem. Maybe others don't have this problem i don't know.

In vanilla BG2 AR0015 is like in Duchal Palace (where you meet Sarevok and Belt at BG1). But in BGT AR0015 is replaced by Candlekeep. So that area looks like Candlekeep not Duchal Palace like it probably should be.

So it's easily fixed by replacing AR0015.WED by AR7208.WED then all containers and exits are in right place and area make more sense. Tested in my local BWP install.

Well i'm no modder so all i can do is inform Hoppy about this. Maybe he can check this if he No! No! WHEN he comes back from R&R. I hope. :(

Hi Micbaldur,

I think I'll have the same problem because (I looked NI) and the room seem like Candlekeep.

How did you replace the area? Have you put in override folder "AR7208.wed" or something else?

Thanks

No don't do that, it might mess up other areas.

Open RR3403.ARE in NI, then use "Edit" tab. There you find "WED resource" line. Change there AR7208.WED and click save button at right bottom corner. You are done.

Quick note: The above attachment should ONLY be used if BGT is installed. Normal BG2 games with CtB won't have this problem :P (I think a small patch in the TP2 would be more elegant than an overwriting ARE though)
