Well, there's a few End dialog 'fix' mods, 1, 2, 3, and the too small backpack annoyance lesser-ner(it doesn't remove it), mod link, I used the max.Just got DA:Ultimate Edition on Steam thanks to the discount (50% for today, 25% until 2nd of January). Are there any must-have mods that I should get for my first run? I'm not interested in content, gameplay or balance changes/additions, mainly in bug fixes and (if that's the case) non-intrusive removal of outright bad/annoying features.

If Qwinn hadn't made his fixpack, you'd be downloading a lot more than this. That said, it would be nice to have a single package, but the Dragon Age modding community isn't as open as the IE one, like Qwinn found out (page 2 and so on).Damn, I hoped to download a single fixpack rather than 50 individual fixes :/
Most of the mods are just drop-in override files though, so you can just zip them up in an archive. The dazip ones are pretty much optional when it comes to fixes, with the exception of Qwinn's fixpack.

Well, that's shortsighted (even worse than what I recall from Oblivion). Reminds me of a certain somebody. If Qwinn hadn't made his fixpack, you'd be downloading a lot more than this. I used DAModder to install them. And boy, do I (*especially* I ) hate when people release their stuff in a .rar I'm supposed to drop in the override when the Builder natively outputs nicely packaged .dazip mods. Most of the mods are just drop-in override files though, so you can just zip them up in an archive. Yeah, it's not that sociable of an environment to work in. You really have to keep track of the credits section...Well, that's shortsighted (even worse than what I recall from Oblivion). Reminds me of a certain somebody.

But yeah, they're obsessive about their "rights and entitlements". I said the same to Qwinn in a PM back then, because I really hadn't expected such a response for all the good work he put in the fixpack.
Dazips would be an ideal medium to deliver the mods in, but apparently override files remain ever-popular even though something else is already available. I really can't see why though, this time nobody even had to wait for the modders to develop a toolset with a save as dazip function.I used DAModder to install them. I also hate rar archives... they should use 7z!

Well, the .dazip's are bad for the stand point of total review on compatibility, how in the cheese can you decide which .dazip to use when you cannot see what's inside the darn things... well, not without a tool that can be used to unpack them.Dazips would be an ideal medium to deliver the mods in, but apparently override files remain ever-popular even though something else is already available. And what comes to the archive formate, it's both, a .zip in small files, or .rar in large files. Because of the time consumption and compatibility... so why the .7zip's, I just ask.

.dazips are .zip with a difference extension, hence they can be opened with 7-zip (E.G. using 'Open With...' from the context menu).how in the cheese can you decide which .dazip to use when you cannot see what's inside the darn things
