Okay here I am again. <_<
This times it's windows 7 and IWD.

I installed all the IWD 1 & 2 games with patches using the recommended approach by Jarno in "FAQ for the Megamods".

I had a few issues regardless.

Issue 1: in IWD1 it said "MplayerInstaller incompatable with 64 bit"

Issue 2: in HoW it said "setup was unable to rename the override folder"

I have already tried to play IWD with the new npc mod but it wouldn't work at all. The npc's weren't even listed in the custom page.
So I uninstalled it and tried it using the above mentioned "FAQ" method and I still got the same :wall: stupid  error messages.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice about this? :( I could really use the help.

Thanks.

Ooo, squirells, Boo! I know I saw them! Quick, throw nuts!

Well, you have a Windows 7 with 64-bit OS, I have a 32-bit Win7, so I cann't really help.
But just to make sure, the FAQ says to first put off the User Account Control and then the Program Compatibility Assistant, then restart the computer as you need to to enable the changes to take effect.
After those you can install the game, install it to somewhere that's not in the C drives Program Files -folders, which inlcude the C:\Program Files (x84)\ sub-folders... a good folder is the C:\Games\IWD\ , or another one is D:\Program Files (x84)\Blackisle\IWD\.
Now then, if and when the installers ask if it should install any other program while installing the game, ALWAYS answer NO. Then install the HoW expansion, and then the TotLM that is also the IwD:HoW's latest patch (v1.42). After that you should start a new game and see if something is off, correcting it first by trying out the Config.exe's tools and then the help here if nothing helps on the screen problems. Then you should be ready to use mods and finally install the Widescreen mod, always almost as the last mod.
